Physiotherapy is the one health service in Singapore where nobody runs a $29 trial. The clinics that publish a price sit in a tight band: heal360 $180 and Edge Healthcare $185 before GST, Core Concepts a flat $207.10 with shockwave and dry needling included, Physio & Sole from $210 before GST, Apex $212.55 with GST. The cheapest route is NTUC Health's subsidised community rehab from $0 a session, but only with a referral.
Why physiotherapy prices in Singapore are so hard to compare
We checked nine practices for this guide. Six publish a rate (five private clinics plus NTUC Health's means-tested range). Three say "on enquiry." That is the opposite of the chiropractic market, where every clinic leads with a $29, $50 or $99 first visit and the competition happens in public. Physiotherapy has no trial pricing culture at all, and the two genuine discounts we could verify anywhere are membership perks, not new-patient offers.
The five that do publish are remarkably consistent. heal360 is $180 before GST. Edge Healthcare is $185 before GST. Core Concepts is $207.10 including GST. Physio & Sole Clinic starts at $210 before GST. Apex Sports Clinic is $212.55 including GST. Adjust them all to the same GST basis and the entire private market sits inside a band of roughly $30.
Which means the useful questions are not "who is cheapest" but: how long is a follow-up session, what modalities are bundled into that price, and the one most people never ask, do you qualify for the subsidised route instead.
That last one is worth real money. NTUC Health runs community rehabilitation across 23 centres at $0 to $179.85 a session, means-tested through MOH's National Means Testing System. For a household at the top subsidy tier, a full rehab programme that would cost $1,200 privately can cost close to nothing. The catch is a single administrative step: you need a referral, because self-referrals do not qualify.
Check your physiotherapist on the government register: it takes 30 seconds
This is the single most useful thing on this page, and it is free. Physiotherapists in Singapore are registered under the Allied Health Professions Act. Every practising physiotherapist must hold a valid Practising Certificate issued by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), and the register of everyone who holds one is public.
Search the name on the Professional Registration System at prs.moh.gov.sg (the AHPC search) before your first appointment. If the person treating you is not on it, they are not a registered physiotherapist, whatever the clinic's website calls them.
This matters more than it sounds, because "physiotherapy" as a word gets used loosely in marketing by practices whose staff are not registered physiotherapists. It is also the clearest practical difference between booking a physiotherapist and booking a chiropractor: chiropractors are not registered under the Act, so there is no equivalent government list to check.
How to read a physiotherapy quote in Singapore
Ask whether the price includes GST. This is the biggest single source of confusion. Core Concepts and Apex quote GST-inclusive. Edge, heal360 and Physio & Sole quote before GST. A "$180" and a "$207.10" that look $27 apart are really about $11 apart once you add 9% to the first one.
Ask how long a follow-up is. Some clinics run 45 minutes throughout; others drop to 30 minutes after the initial consultation. Same headline price, two-thirds of the time. Edge Healthcare sits in between with a 40-minute standard slot.
Ask what is bundled. Shockwave therapy is charged at $200 a site at one clinic on this list and included in the session price at another. Dry needling is $80 extra at one and free at another. If your treatment plan needs those, they can swing the real cost of a course by hundreds of dollars.
Ask for the cost of the whole course, not the session. Physiotherapy is rarely one visit. Six sessions at $207.10 is $1,242.60. That is the number to plan around.
What the add-ons actually cost, clinic by clinic
Only three clinics here publish add-on prices, and they disagree sharply. Core Concepts folds dry needling, shockwave therapy, VALD performance testing and real-time ultrasound imaging into the $207.10 session fee, so none of them is a separate line on your bill. Physio & Sole Clinic charges shockwave at $200 per site for a single session, dry needling at $80, manual therapy at $40 and sports taping at $25, all before GST, with a home visit at $350 to $400. Apex Sports Clinic charges shockwave from $100 a session, sports massage from $160 and gait analysis from $200.
Run those numbers over a real plan. A plantar fasciitis course needing six shockwave sessions costs nothing extra at Core Concepts and $1,200 on top of the session fees at Physio & Sole. That one line is worth more than every headline price difference on this page put together, which is why the cheapest session rate is so often not the cheapest treatment.
One more question worth asking, because only one clinic here puts the answer in writing: Physio & Sole states there is no surcharge if your session runs past 45 minutes.
Check your insurance and your employer before you pay cash. Many Integrated Shield riders and corporate health plans cover outpatient physiotherapy with a doctor's referral, and several clinics bill insurers directly. Flexi-MediSave lets Singapore Citizens aged 60 and above use up to $400 a year for approved outpatient treatments at polyclinics and public hospital specialist outpatient clinics, which can reduce the cash portion where physiotherapy is doctor-ordered. Each MediSave claim carries a 15% cash co-payment. Rules are specific, so confirm with the provider rather than assuming.
The cheapest physiotherapy in Singapore: the subsidised routes, ranked
Every private clinic on this list sits between $180 and $213 a session. The cheapest physiotherapy in Singapore is not on that list at all. It is subsidised physiotherapy, and there are three separate doors into it. They are not interchangeable, and the referral you need is different for each one.
NTUC Health community rehabilitation: $0 to $179.85 a session
Twenty-three centres islandwide, means-tested through MOH's National Means Testing System, plus a $20 initial assessment. Maintenance programmes for long-term conditions run $0 to $130.80, and home therapy starts at $12.70. Self-referrals are not eligible for subsidy. You need documentation from a doctor confirming that rehabilitation is necessary. This is the widest door, and the one most households can actually use.
How much does polyclinic physiotherapy cost in Singapore?
No polyclinic publishes a physiotherapy price. SingHealth Polyclinics' charges page lists a doctor's consultation at $18.50 for Singapore Citizens, $8.50 for citizen children under 18 and seniors aged 65 and above, $37.50 for Permanent Residents and $85.35 for non-residents, alongside a full dental table, and no physiotherapy line at all. National University Polyclinics publishes no allied health figures either. What is published is that for subsidised patients GST is absorbed by the Government.
The access rule is narrower than most people expect. SingHealth Polyclinics run physiotherapy at seven locations (Bedok, Bukit Merah, Eunos, Pasir Ris, Punggol, Tampines and Tampines North), covering musculoskeletal care, post-operative rehabilitation after total knee replacement, group exercise classes for knee osteoarthritis and high fall risk, and vestibular rehabilitation for dizziness and vertigo. Patients must be 13 or above. Here is the catch nobody mentions: SHP accepts physiotherapy referrals only from its own doctors, SGH Orthopaedic specialists and the SGH Emergency Department. A letter from your neighbourhood GP will not get you in. You need to be seen at the polyclinic itself first.
Public hospital rehabilitation: the cheapest route if you are already in the system
If a hospital treated you for the fracture, the stroke or the surgery, ask its own rehabilitation department before you start calling private clinics. You are already referred, which is the step that costs everyone else a separate appointment.
The pattern across all three is the same: the referral is worth more than any discount in the private market. A subsidy tier can be worth up to about $180 a session. The best new-patient offer anywhere in Singapore private physiotherapy is 20% off a single visit.
Private or subsidised: which one is actually right for you
Go subsidised (NTUC Health, polyclinic, public hospital rehab) if your programme will run for months, if the injury came from a stroke, fall, fracture or surgery, or if the cash cost is the thing that would make you stop going. Get the referral first, because self-referrals lose the subsidy. Expect waits of weeks to months and shorter sessions.
Go private if you need to be seen this week, if you want the same therapist every session, if you need evening or weekend slots, or if the problem is sports-specific and you want assessment technology and hands-on time. Expect $180–$213 a session before you add anything.
There is no shame in mixing them: plenty of people pay privately for a fast assessment and a plan, then do the long grind of rehab through the subsidised system.
