The chain everyone knows, and the one whose real entry price is buried under the promotion everyone writes about.WHAT ITS OWN FEE TABLE SAYS: at the ordinary TCM Clinics a first consultation runs $25 with a Physician, $30 with an Associate Senior Physician, $40 with a Senior Physician and $60 with a Consultant Physician (long consultations $40 to $80); acupuncture $40 to $110, cupping or scraping $35 to $80, tuina $30 to $80, paediatric tuina $60 to $80, auriculotherapy $12 to $20, infrared lamp $6, herbal medication from $11 a day plus an $8 dispensing fee, TCM Health Report $68.THE SECOND FEE TABLE NOBODY MENTIONS: the two Premier TCM Centres (Orchard Paragon, The Woodleigh Mall) and the TCM Centre at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital run a separate and dearer card, with a first consultation of $40 to $110, acupuncture $60 to $140, a $12 dispensing fee and herbs from $13 a day. Every discount below is barred at those three. That $38 is against a list price of roughly $96 to $121 on Ma Kuang's own card, and it is the only opening trial in this guide still running into November. The clinic's poster defines off-peak as Monday to Friday, 2pm to 5pm, and lists the $38 against a U.P. of $96.30. It is subject to GST, so budget $95.92, herbs are extra, and the booking code is painrelief88.THE FERTILITY TRIAL WENT UP: the Fertility Management Trial is still listed as ongoing at the same five clinics, but it now costs $98 (U.P. $200), or $106.82 with GST, and the code has changed to fertilitytrial98, so the $88 price and fertilitytrial88 code still quoted elsewhere are out of date. It cannot be combined with other vouchers, promotions or membership discounts. The Past trials archive holds the $198 insomnia, $88 hair loss and $88 women's health trials from earlier in the year.ALSO RUNNING: three TCM x PSYCH trials at $328 against a usual $400++, each a physician consultation plus treatment plus a psychotherapy session, for insomnia, depression and anxiety, with no stated end date. Thomson Chinese Medicine is the TCM arm of the Thomson Medical group, first set up inside Thomson Medical Centre in 2009, which makes it the natural choice if you want TCM that sits alongside rather than instead of your existing Western care.THE CORRECTION: the Weekday Holistic TCM Therapy at $108 nett, which this guide and most others carried as its headline offer, has EXPIRED. The Woodleigh Mall listing that ran it gives its validity as 21 May 2025 to 28 February 2026, and it now appears nowhere on Thomson Medical's own TCM landing page, centre page or fee page. Budget at list price instead. Every August the chains cut prices for a few weeks. Chung Hwa charges those prices all year, because it is not a business: it is a registered charity that has provided subsidised Chinese medical treatment in Singapore regardless of race or religion since 1952, funded by donations and government support.ITS PHYSICIANS ARE UNPAID: the institution states that its roughly 500 duty physicians and clinical lecturers, plus 20 station physicians across the six branches, are all members of the Singapore Chinese Physicians' Association and registered with the TCM Practitioners' Board under MOH, and that they receive no salary for their services. HOW THE $11 ACTUALLY WORKS, WHICH ALMOST EVERY WRITE-UP GETS WRONG: for a general internal-medicine or acupuncture consultation, the fee table shows a $3 registration fee, NO consultation fee at all, and an $8 upfront treatment fee, so $11 is collected before you are seen. Only the $3 registration is non-refundable. If you have acupuncture, the $8 is not refunded because it covers the $8 needling charge. If you do not, the $8 is offset against your additional treatment charges or your medication, or refunded outright on the same day. The clinic says selected opening promotions can be combined in the same visit. Its wellness menu (bojin, hot stone, detox gua sha, lymphatic detox) does not appear at the family clinics.ONE THING TO CHECK BEFORE YOU GO: NovaHealth's two pages disagree on weekly closures. Its family-clinics page gives every branch as Mon to Fri 10am to 8pm and weekends 10am to 6pm with only public holidays closed, while its promotions page adds a weekly rest day, Tuesdays at Farrer Park, Chong Pang and Eunos, and Thursdays at Ang Mo Kio. That is better than the $20 off a first visit it advertises everywhere else, but it needs planning, not a walk-in.ON THE ROBOT: NovaHealth is no longer the only clinic here running EMMA, the AI tuina system, and at $98 a session it is the most expensive place to try it, unless you take the $68 pain-relief first trial below or go to Chinatown Point, where a 30-minute EMMA acupressure and spinal analysis comes free inside the $68 recovery package. Singapore Chung Hwa's Yishun branch runs the same technology at $30 for 25 minutes.
