How we work

Editorial Policy & Standards

MissLobang exists to help Singapore readers make better everyday decisions — what to eat, what to buy, what's worth their time. That only works if we tell the truth, source carefully, and own our mistakes. Here's the discipline behind every piece we publish.

Research-first writing

Every listicle and guide starts from primary sources — official brand pages, government agencies (NEA, MAS, IRAS, CPF Board, MUIS), reputable Singapore news outlets, and direct customer reviews on Google Maps and Facebook. We do not paraphrase or aggregate other publishers' rankings.

Real prices, real expiry dates

When we cite a price or promo expiry, it's verified at the time of publication against the brand's own website or storefront. If we can't verify an expiry date, we do not invent one — we leave it off rather than mislead readers.

Updates, not abandonments

Articles age. We re-check rates, opening hours, and promo codes on a rolling basis and update the article body and the publish date when material changes are made. Articles whose subject has fundamentally changed (closed restaurants, defunct apps) are updated rather than left to mislead.

Sponsored content is labelled

Sponsored articles, paid placements, affiliate links, and partnership content are clearly marked at the top of the article. Editorial coverage is never traded for advertising spend — see our Advertising page for how we work with brands.

Author bylines are real

Every article carries a real byline. Our four-person editorial team — Jamie Tan (food), Sarah Lim (lifestyle), Marcus Wong (deals & finance), Priya Nair (kids & family) — write the pieces in their categories. We do not publish anonymous content.

Corrections are public

If we get something wrong — a price, a date, a venue, an attribution — we want to know. Email hello@misslobang.com with the article URL and the correction. Confirmed corrections are made promptly and noted at the bottom of the article.

On AI assistance

Like most modern publications, we use AI tools to help with research, structure, copy-editing, and translation between English and Chinese. AI never has the final word on what gets published.

Every article is reviewed by a human editor for factual accuracy, local relevance, and editorial voice before it goes live. Where we quote a price, expiry date, hawker stall location, or brand claim, a human verifies it against a primary source. Translations between languages are reviewed by a bilingual editor.
