How to choose a dash cam in Singapore

Compare the fitted price, not the sticker. A $239 camera becomes $339 with interior-rear installation at Dasher, and a $268 VIOFO becomes $388. The AA's Deepfly sets already include fitting and a 32GB card.

Interior or exterior rear camera. At Dasher this one choice moves the installation bill from $100 to $200. An interior rear camera films through the back windscreen and is the cheaper, simpler job. An exterior one avoids tint and glare but needs more wiring.

Parking mode needs power. Plugged into the cigarette lighter socket, most cameras stop when the engine does. A hardwire kit keeps them running, at $25 from VIOFO, $25 for BlackVue's cable and $39 from Botslab. Pick a model with a low-voltage cut-off so a long weekend parked does not leave you with a flat battery.

Capacitor over battery. Singapore's heat is hard on a lithium battery behind the windscreen. The DDPAI N5 Pro and Z50 Pro and the 70mai A810S and T400 all list a supercapacitor. Check the page of the exact model you buy.

Budget for the card. Several sticker prices exclude storage. Expect roughly $30 to $55 for 32GB to 64GB from these sellers.

How we checked

Every price comes from the seller's own store or price list on 5 November 2026. Most sellers publish no end date for their markdowns, and a printed "regular price" is the seller's own figure, so treat the savings as a guide.

Not listed: Thinkware and Garmin. Thinkware's Singapore store is still a password-locked "coming soon" page, and we could not find a Singapore price on an official Garmin page. If you want either, check that a marketplace seller offers a local warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best dash cam in Singapore in 2026?

For most drivers, the DDPAI N5 Pro at $239 is the best value, with 4K front and 2K rear recording and a supercapacitor. If you want everything on one bill, the VIOFO A129 Plus Duo is $388 fitted with a 2-year warranty. BlackVue is the premium choice from $278 to $888. Prices were checked on 5 November 2026.

How much does dash cam installation cost in Singapore?

Among the sellers we checked, it ranges from free to $200. The Automobile Association includes fitting on its Deepfly and IROAD sets, VIOFO Singapore charges a flat $120, and Dasher charges $80 for front only, $100 with an interior rear camera and $200 with an exterior rear camera. BlackVue installation is priced by its authorised dealers.

Which dash cam is the cheapest in Singapore?

The cheapest we found from a local seller with a warranty desk is the 70mai M310 Plus at $99 from Dasher, which is front camera only. The cheapest front-and-rear option is the 70mai A410 Neo at $149. The cheapest with fitting included is the Deepfly DX7S2 at the AA, $288 for members.

Do I need a hardwire kit for parking mode?

Usually yes. Most cameras powered from the cigarette lighter socket stop when you switch off the engine, so 24-hour parking mode needs a hardwire kit or a battery pack. The kit costs $25 at VIOFO and $39 for Botslab. Choose one with low-voltage cut-off so it does not drain your car battery.
