Shin Katsu has added a new pork from Japan to its menu, and it is launching it with a 1-for-1 on Mondays. Its 31 October post offers the Hirata Rosu Katsu Set at 1-for-1 every Monday through November and December 2026. Rosu is the loin cut, the one with a band of fat along the edge.

The offer
| Detail | What Shin Katsu or the listing says |
|---|---|
| Deal | 1-for-1 Hirata Rosu Katsu Set |
| Mondays left | 9, 16, 23 and 30 Nov; 7, 14, 21 and 28 Dec |
| To qualify | Follow @shinkatsu.sg, then like and share the post |
| Where | 84/86 Tanjong Pagar Road, its only Singapore outlet |
| Monday hours | 11.30am-3pm and 5pm-10pm, last order 30 minutes before closing |
| Listed price | $36.80, per TheSmartLocal; not printed by Shin Katsu |
What it costs
If the $36.80 is before 10% service charge and 9% GST, as Shin Katsu's other set prices are, one set comes to about $44.12. Shared between two, that is roughly $22 a head.
That would make it cheaper per person than the regular 120g Rosu Katsu Set on its September menu, which is $22.80++ or about $27.34 each. Treat this as an estimate: the price comes from TheSmartLocal, and Shin Katsu has not said whether service charge is worked out on one set or both.
The fine print
- Instagram is the entry ticket. The poster says to follow the account to enjoy the promo, and the caption adds like and share. It does not explain how to show this, so keep the post open on your phone.
- It is one set only. The post names only the Hirata Rosu Katsu Set, so do not assume the Mangalica or Kurobuta sets count.
- Mon 9 Nov is unclear. It is the public holiday for Deepavali, and a diner's question about holidays had no reply showing when we read the post on 3 November.
- Other details are unstated. Diners have also asked whether it is lunch only, whether takeaway counts and whether it is limited to the first few pairs. None had a reply showing on 3 November, so we would not rely on any of them until Shin Katsu confirms.
Tips
- Call first. Ask about the Monday you plan to go, on 8825 8311. The post also says to reserve.
- Pick a later Monday if you can. Mon 16 Nov avoids the public holiday question altogether.
- Plan around the break. Weekdays stop from 3pm to 5pm, and last orders are at 2.30pm and 9.30pm.
- Compare with the rest of the street. Our tonkatsu guide sets Shin Katsu against Tonkatsu Daiki, Ojeje and others.
