Six tonkatsu restaurants worth the queue in Singapore, from Osaka's Michelin-recognised Tonkatsu Daiki and Seoul's new Ojeje to a $9.90 lunch combo. Prices, outlets and hours were checked on 20 October 2026.
Crisp panko, pink-centred pork and free-flow cabbage: Singapore's tonkatsu scene got two big openings in 2026.
> Quick view: best overall is Tonkatsu Daiki from $29++; cheapest is Katsu-an's $9.90 nett lunch combo; most sets run $22-$33++, so add about 20% for service charge and GST.
How to choose
- Work out the real bill. "++" means 10% service charge and then 9% GST, so a $29++ set at Daiki costs about $34.77, and Shin Katsu's $22.80++ set about $27.34. Katsu-an's prices are nett, which is why its $12.90 teishoku is genuinely about half the price.
- Rosu or hire? Rosu (loin) has a fat cap and is juicier; hire (tenderloin) is leaner and softer. Daiki prices both at $29++, so the choice is purely taste.
- Use the refills. Daiki refills rice and cabbage, Shin Katsu refills miso soup, and Ma Maison serves kamado rice at dinner. Factor that in when comparing a $29 set with a $22 one.
- Plan for queues. Daiki takes no reservations and runs a WhatsApp queue, and TONSHOU's Tras Street shop has been walk-in only. Go at opening time or after 2pm on weekdays.
- Halal diners: none of the six restaurants here is halal-certified, since tonkatsu is a pork dish.
How we checked
Prices, outlets and hours were read on 20 October 2026 from each restaurant's own channels: Tonkatsu Daiki's menu page, Shin Katsu's September 2026 menu PDF and website, Ma Maison's outlet pages, menu boards and membership page, Katsu-an's online menu and location page, and the Instagram accounts of TONSHOU, Ojeje and Ma Maison. Ojeje and TONSHOU do not publish prices online, so those figures come from Eatbook's launch review (7 October 2026) and its January 2026 tonkatsu guide, and are marked as such. Prices can change without notice.
