The offer
The mechanic is the simplest kind: order a selected main at full price, and your second selected main is charged a flat $6.10++ — the $6.10 nodding at Singapore's 61st birthday. Between two people, that's one normal main plus one main for about $7.30 nett once the service charge and GST are on.
Because the second plate is a flat price rather than a percentage, the value depends entirely on what you order first: the pricier the qualifying main, the better the pair looks. The campaign artwork features a prawn noodle-style dish and a breaded chicken chop with fries, though the poster stops short of confirming those are the qualifying items.
The bit that will catch people out: there's one outlet left
This matters more than any fine print. Secret Recipe's Plaza Singapura outlet closed permanently after 27 July 2026, its Level 3 unit swept up in the mall's major revamp — the Level 3 and 5 floating bridges are being redeveloped into "floating gardens".
That leaves exactly one Secret Recipe in Singapore, and Secret Recipe's own store locator now lists only:

The fine print
- 8–10 August 2026 only — three days, over a long weekend when the one remaining outlet will be busy.
- "++" means before service charge and GST — the shelf figure is $6.10, the wallet figure is nearer $7.30.
- "Selected mains" is undefined — Secret Recipe hasn't published the qualifying list or the first main's price. The poster carries "*T&Cs apply".
- Dine-in vs takeaway isn't stated — nor is whether it stacks with the weekday Lunch Deal or Dinner Delight sets. Assume no stacking and ask when ordering.
- Halal — Secret Recipe states on its site that Secret Recipe Cakes & Café is Halal certified, and the SG61 poster carries a halal mark.
Tips
- Go off-peak. One outlet, a three-day window and a public holiday weekend is a queue waiting to happen — aim for the mid-afternoon lull rather than 12.30pm or 7pm.
- Order the expensive main first. The discount is a fixed second-plate price, so the saving grows with the first main's price.
- Ask for the qualifying list up front, before you settle on dishes — it's the one detail the brand hasn't put in writing.
- Leave room for cake. It's what Secret Recipe is actually known for, and the Toa Payoh outlet runs a separate 1-for-1 sliced-cake offer for seniors on Mondays.
