Confinement food is one of the strangest things you ever buy: you commit to four weeks of lunches and dinners before you know your own delivery date, for a version of yourself you have not met yet — one who is recovering, feeding every few hours, and in no state to cook.
That is why the pricing matters more than it looks. Half of Singapore's confinement caterers publish a full rate card; the other half quote only on enquiry or over WhatsApp. So we went to each provider's own website and order page on 11 August 2026 and wrote down what they actually charge.
What a full month actually costs
For 28 days of lunch and dinner, the verified prices run from S$1,768 to S$2,210:
- Chilli Padi Confinement — S$1,768, which its own site breaks down to S$31.57 a meal. The cheapest verified full-month double-meal package here.
- Yue Zi Le — S$1,999, and the only provider on this list that states plainly that its prices include GST.
- Thomson Nutri — S$2,210, down from a usual S$2,298, with a member price of S$2,092.
- Tian Wei Signature does not publish one 28-day figure, but states its packages run S$518 to S$2,558 across 7-day to 40-day plans.
NouRiche, ReLacto and Ummu Fazwill do not publish package prices at all — all three quote on enquiry.
The two numbers people get wrong
Double meal vs single meal. A "double" package is lunch *and* dinner, every day. A "single" is one of the two, and it costs a little over half — Yue Zi Le's 28-day single is S$1,049 against S$1,999 for the double. Providers list both side by side, and it is easy to compare one against the other by accident.
Before or after GST. Yue Zi Le states its prices include GST. Others may not. On a S$2,000 package that is a S$180 difference — enough to change the ranking.
Where the real discounts are
- Chilli Padi Confinement — 5% off with code EB5OFF. Its homepage banner advertises an Early Bird Special valid on the 28 Days Dual, 21 Days Dual, 28 Days Single and 14 Days Dual packages, which takes the 28-day double meal to about S$1,679.60. It also runs a care package with postnatal massage specialist BMB — 28 days of dual meals plus 10 massage sessions at S$3,268.60, with a S$50 restaurant voucher and a 30-minute foot massage thrown in.
- Tian Wei Signature — up to S$188 off if you book at least one month before your estimated delivery date. Only a deposit is due at booking, with the balance on the first delivery day, so booking early costs you nothing up front.
- Thomson Nutri — up to S$118 off plus free dishes worth S$45, and Thomson Medical members pay a further S$118 less on the longer packages.
- NouRiche advertises early bird discounts on its 28-day plan without publishing the amount.
Try before you commit to a month
Taste fatigue is the most common complaint about confinement catering, and four straight weeks of ginger, sesame oil and rice wine is a lot — which is exactly why several providers add fusion menus from week two. Trial meals are cheap insurance:
- Tian Wei Signature — S$35 a set. The Signature Trial gives you four bite-sized dishes with rice, soup, dessert and a drink, which shows the range better than a single meal does.
- Mama J's — S$42, reduced from S$45, dinner only, delivered 3.30pm-7.30pm.
- Yue Zi Le — S$45, with the premium postnatal trial available Fridays only.
- NouRiche runs a one-day trial plan, regular or vegetarian, Saturdays only with two days' notice.
- Thomson Nutri sells a 7-meal set at S$558 rather than a single trial.
Book the trials while you are still pregnant — several of them only run on one day of the week.
If you need something specific
- Breastfeeding: ReLacto, built entirely around lactogenic ingredients with a lactation drink in every meal.
- Vegetarian: NouRiche has a dedicated vegetarian confinement menu; Mama J's prices its vegetarian premium line in step with the standard one.
- Halal: Ummu Fazwill, a 100% Muslim-owned kitchen. Book earlier here — the pool of halal confinement kitchens is small.
- Low sodium or clinically designed: Thomson Nutri, built by dietitians, TCM physicians and lactation consultants, with no added sodium salt or MSG.
- Short blocks to cover a nanny's off-days: Yue Zi Le, from a 3-day double meal at S$270.
