How to choose

  • Decide how often you will pump. If you will express most feeds, or go back to work, a plug-in or battery double pump like the Spectra S1 Pro or Hegen does the heavy lifting. A wearable is the convenient second pump for meetings, the car or a night out.
  • Get the flange size right. A shield that is too big or too small hurts and drains less milk. Medela includes 21mm and 24mm, Spectra ships 24mm, and Hegen's rental lets you pick 16mm to 31mm.
  • Treat strike-through prices with care. Only Avent's bundle had a published end date on 13 October. Spectra's "RRP", Motherswork's "was" prices and eufy's codes ran with no deadline, so there is no reason to buy before your baby arrives just to catch them.
  • Not sure? Rent or buy manual first. Hegen rents its double electric pump from $50 for 30 days. A Haakaa silicone pump costs $29.90 and a Medela Harmony Flex manual pump $69.90 at Motherswork, which is enough for the occasional bottle.
  • Opened pumps cannot be returned. Brands treat pumps as single-user items, so check the warranty registration and keep the receipt instead.
  • The next big fair is in January. Mummys Market returns to Singapore Expo on 15-17 January 2027, and pumps are usually among the deepest fair discounts. If your due date is after that, it may be worth waiting.
