A child car seat in Singapore costs anywhere from $299 to $899, and the price on the sticker is not always the real saving. We read the live prices on Maxi-Cosi's and Britax's own Singapore stores, Motherswork and Kiddy Palace on 13 October 2026 for infant seats, all-in-one seats, boosters and a travel seat.
In Singapore, any child under 1.35m needs a proper car seat or booster in a private car or a Grab.
> Quick view: the one-seat answer is Maxi-Cosi Emerald 360 Pro at $799; the cheapest 360° seat is $299 at Kiddy Palace; and a strike-through price is not always a real saving.
How to choose
- Decide between one seat and two. An all-in-one like the Emerald 360 Pro or the $299 i-Max 360 runs from birth to about 12 years. The other route is an infant capsule for the first year (Baby-Safe Core, Pipa Next or Doona X), then a toddler seat or booster. Two seats cost more in total but the capsule lifts out of the car with the baby in it.
- Check the brand's own store before a retailer's "was" price. Motherswork listed the Maxi-Cosi Nomad Plus as "was $569", but Maxi-Cosi's own Singapore store sells it at $299 as its normal price. The reverse also happens: the Maxi-Cosi Pebble 360 Pro² was $499 on Maxi-Cosi's store against $719 at Motherswork on 13 October.
- Look for R129 (i-Size) and ISOFIX. R129 is the newer European standard and sizes seats by the child's height. ISOFIX clips the seat to anchor points in the car, which makes a wrong install less likely. Most modern cars have ISOFIX points, but check your manual first.
- Keep them rear-facing as long as the seat allows. R129 keeps babies rear-facing to at least 15 months, and the Emerald can stay rear-facing to about 4 years.
- Car-free? Think about how you will get around. Taxis are exempt from the child-restraint rule but private-hire cars are not, so parents who rely on Grab or Gojek need a seat they can carry: the Doona X for babies, the Nomad Plus for toddlers.
How we checked
Every price, colour and stock note was read from the product listings on maxi-cosi.com.sg, britax.com.sg, motherswork.com.sg and kiddypalace.com.sg on 13 October 2026. None of the four stores printed an end date for its markdowns, so prices can change without notice. The legal rule comes from the Ministry of Transport's statements on child restraints. We left out Joie and others whose official Singapore store did not show a live price we could confirm.
