The Butterfly 2 is the stroller we would buy first for Singapore. It folds in one second into a cabin-bag-sized package (Bugaboo lists it as IATA-compatible at 17.6 x 9.6 x 21.8 inches), so it goes through HDB lifts, MRT gantries and into a Grab boot without a fight. It weighs about 7.3kg (16 lbs), takes up to about 22.7kg (50 lbs) on the seat and 8kg in the basket, has full suspension, and reclines from fully upright. Bugaboo rates it from birth to about 48 months, recommending a car seat (adapters sold separately) for newborns. Motherswork, which stocks Bugaboo in Singapore, sells the complete stroller at S$879 in five colours. There was no discount on 25 September 2026.

The City Tour 2 is a proper compact stroller at a fair price. It weighs about 6.5kg (6.48kg), folds in one step with an auto lock to a fraction of its open size, and is suitable from birth up to about 20.4kg, with a near-flat recline, adjustable calf rest, a large canopy and a basket that holds about 6.8kg. At the Mummys Market Baby Fair (2-4 October 2026, Singapore Expo Hall 5) it is S$239 with a free City Tour 2 carry bag worth S$39.90, against a usual S$619. The fair page also lists an early-bird price of S$199. Colours are Pitch Black and Shadow Grey.

The Aer 2 weighs 6.5kg, folds with one hand in about a second to 44 x 53 x 23.5cm, and comes with a shoulder strap and travel pouch, which Joolz says makes it airplane compatible. Unlike most cabin strollers it is suitable from birth when the seat is fully reclined, and it carries a child up to 22kg. The 106.5cm handlebar suits taller parents, the sun hood is UPF 50+, and the one-pull harness tightens in a single motion. The fabrics are made from recycled PET bottles. Motherswork sells it at S$799 in several colours, with a separate cot (S$439) if you want a carrycot for the newborn months. No discount on 25 September 2026.

The Doona X is an infant car seat with wheels that fold out from underneath, so you can lift your baby from the pavement into a Grab or taxi without unbuckling. The X version adds three recline positions (sit, relax and lay back), a zip-on canopy, shock-absorbing wheels, a 101cm faux-leather handle and a side-impact add-on. Motherswork has cut it to S$899 from S$1,249-S$1,299 depending on colour (Nitro Black, Ocean Blue, Dusty Sage, Forest Green, Terracotta). The catch: it is an infant seat, so it is outgrown within about the first year, and there is no basket. Motherswork prints no end date for the price.

Hamilton's X1 Plus uses a one-hand MagicFold and takes a child from birth up to 22kg. At the Mummys Market Baby Fair it is S$329 in Black or Khaki with a stroller bag and cup holder included, against a usual S$699; the pre-order and early-bird price listed on the fair page is S$299. It is a good middle ground if you want a sturdier travel stroller than the S$189-S$239 options here but do not want to pay premium-brand prices. Hamilton's autofold Traveller is also at the fair, from S$369 (usual S$559).

The Pact Lite is the lowest-priced stroller in this guide that is suitable from birth. The seat reclines flat, it folds with one hand into a flat package with a carry strap, and it still has a full-size shopping basket, all-wheel suspension, a UPF 50+ extendable canopy, a two-position calf support and a ShoeSaver brake. At the Mummys Market Baby Fair it is S$189 in Quartz, against a usual S$279, with a pre-order price of S$179.25 listed on the fair page. It is a sensible second stroller to keep in the car or at the grandparents' flat.

The Goody folds automatically with one hand and then stands up by itself, which helps in a small HDB lift or when you are holding the baby. Folded it measures 56 x 46.5 x 25cm. It is suitable from birth up to 22kg, with a fully reclining backrest, adjustable leg rest, wide padded seat, a zip-extendable canopy, an eco-leather handle and a removable bumper bar. Mummys Market sells the Cool Grey Goody online at S$299, against a usual S$425. If you want the upgraded Goody Primo, Motherswork has it at S$489 (was S$699). Neither retailer prints an end date.

If a second child is likely within a few years, the Vista V3 is built for it. It starts as a single stroller with a reversible toddler seat (parent- or forward-facing, up to about 22.7kg) and, with add-on adapters and a second seat or bassinet, carries two or even three children. It folds in one step and stands when folded, rides on never-flat tyres with dual-spring suspension, and has an extra-large basket rated to about 13.6kg. Motherswork sells it at S$1,699. It is heavy and bulky next to everything else here, so measure your car boot and lift before buying. No discount on 25 September 2026.

Some items list an even lower early-bird or pre-order price, such as S$199 for the City Tour 2. The premium brands (Bugaboo, Joolz, UPPAbaby) had no fair listing when we checked.
Some compact strollers are designed to fit airline cabin-bag limits: Bugaboo lists the Butterfly 2's fold as IATA-compatible (17.6 x 9.6 x 21.8 inches), and Joolz says the Aer 2 folds to 44 x 53 x 23.5cm and is airplane compatible. Whether you can carry one on still depends on your airline's own size rule and the crew on the day, so check your airline's baggage page before you fly. Most airlines let you check a stroller in at the gate if it does not fit.
It is worth it if you take a lot of Grab and taxi rides with a newborn, because you move the baby from pavement to car without unbuckling. The Doona X is S$899 at Motherswork, down from S$1,249-S$1,299 depending on colour. The trade-off is that it is an infant car seat, so your child outgrows it within the first year or so and you will then need a regular stroller and a bigger car seat. It also has no shopping basket.
