Some National Day menus reach for the flag. The Warehouse Hotel reaches for its own past instead — and it is a good one to reach for.
Long before it became an award-winning boutique hotel, the iconic triple-span warehouse on the Singapore River was a bustling trading godown, home at various points to clandestine distilleries and secret societies, where merchants, migrants and labourers crossed paths during Singapore's formative years. Lobby Bar: four heritage cocktails, and a card deck to earn
Lobby Bar's four limited-edition cocktails are $24++ each, and each is named for a figure who helped shape Singapore:
- The Samsui Woman — a bold cocktail finished with a red-wine float, a nod to the samsui women's iconic red headscarves.
- The Coolie — bright and refreshing, with smoky Lapsang Souchong tea and sparkling soda.
- The Hawker — a light rum cocktail with pandan, lemongrass, coconut milk and rice.
- The Gambler — inspired by the clandestine gambling dens that once lined the Singapore River.
Work your way through all four across your visits and you receive a limited-edition The Warehouse Hotel × Bicycle playing-card deck, while stocks last — a genuinely nice keepsake, and the reason to come back rather than stop at one.
Po Restaurant: local classics, reimagined
Over at Po Restaurant, four National Day specials give familiar dishes a modern turn:
- Po's Satay ($18++) — grilled pork and chicken skewers with a chunky Hainanese-style peanut sauce, pineapple, cucumber and onion.
- Kari Ayam Kapitan ($28++) — kampong chicken leg braised with baby potatoes in a fragrant curry of fresh herbs and spices.
- River Prawn Hokkien Mee ($28++) — umami noodles in a broth of prawn heads, pork bones and clams, finished with roasted pork and Po's homemade sambal belachan.
- Apom Berkuah ($14++) — mini fermented rice pancakes with warm Mao Shan Wang durian coconut gravy.

Worth it?
At $24++ the cocktails are priced like any good CBD bar, so the value here is not the number on the menu — it is the storytelling, the riverside heritage room, and the four-cocktail card-deck reward. If you are planning where to drink or dine over the long weekend, this is a strong, distinctly-Singaporean option that most people will not have thought to book.
