The poster shows a takeaway box of curry-sauced noodles topped with crispy chicken bites and shredded seaweed. At $4.50 it costs less than most hot lunches near Somerset, City Hall or the Civic District.
The From $1 FoodBar menu (to 30 December)
The same FoodBar counters are also running a longer value menu, from 23 September to 30 December:
| Price | Items |
|---|---|
| $1 each | Fishballs, hash browns |
| $2 each | Hot spicy chicken karaage, cup corn, chicken cutlet |
| $3 | Pancake |
Pair the $4.50 curry noodle with a $1 hash brown or $2 cup corn and lunch still comes in under $7.
The fine print
- FoodBar stores only. FoodBar is a hot-food counter found in just five 7-Eleven stores. Ordinary 7-Eleven shops sell neither the curry noodle nor the From $1 items.
- Illustrative images. 7-Eleven notes that the images are for illustration purposes only, so the portion in the box may not look exactly like the poster.
- No limits printed. 7-Eleven has not published a per-customer cap, a daily time window or a while-stocks-last line. Hot-food counters do sell out, so go before the lunch rush if you want to be sure.
- Not part of the $1 Deals shelf. The FoodBar menu is separate from 7-Eleven's fortnightly $1 Deals on drinks and snacks.
Tips
- Go early on weekdays. Wilkie Edge, UE Square and Esplanade MRT sit near offices and schools, so the counter is busiest from noon to 1.30pm.
- Esplanade MRT is the easiest to reach. The store is at the Circle Line station, so it is an easy stop on the way to or from the Civic District.
- Stack the From $1 snacks. A $2 chicken cutlet or karaage turns the noodle box into a bigger meal for $6.50 in total.
