Ban Heng's restaurant at Orchid Country Club in Yishun has launched a new à la carte buffet, and for the rest of 2026 every fourth adult at the table eats free.

What the four of you actually pay
The "++" means a 10% service charge and then 9% GST, and the $3++ tea charge applies to every guest. Ban Heng does not say whether the free diner also pays the tea charge, so these sums assume all four do.

That is a saving of about $48 on a weekday and $55 on a weekend, or one full buffet. A group of three gains nothing from this offer, so bring a fourth person.
What is on the buffet
Everything is ordered from a chit and cooked to order. Four chef's recommendations are one serving per guest:
- Chilli crab or white pepper crab, one piece each, one flavour per person
- Mini Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, Ban Heng's signature
- Deep-fried soon hock in superior soy sauce
- Salmon sashimi, 2 slices each
The rest is unlimited, about 60 dishes across appetisers (Thai miang kham hand rolls, Thai chicken skewers, Teochew prawn rolls, pork trotter jelly), poultry and meat (Teochew braised duck, abalone pork belly with preserved mustard, roast duck, char siu, crispy pork belly), seafood (Hong Kong-style steamed seabass, live prawns in creamy white sauce, XO scallops and prawns, lala two ways), vegetables, and noodles and rice (seafood fried rice with dried scallops, beef hor fun, seafood pad Thai, pad kra pao, oyster omelette).
Dim sum is lunch only. That includes har gao, siew mai, xiao long bao, salted egg liu sha buns, charcoal Musang King liu sha buns, durian sticky rice balls and fried carrot cake.
On weekends and public holidays the live stations add Teochew flower crab congee and mango sticky rice, alongside Thai boat noodles, papaya salad, Teochew duck kway teow soup, laksa and yam paste.
The fine print
- Three paying adults minimum. Children do not count towards the three.
- Bigger groups: Ban Heng does not say whether eight adults get two free diners. Ask when you book.
- Two holiday prices. The menu lists $45.80++ for "Sat, Sun & PHs" and a separate $48.80++ for "Public Holidays, Special Occasions". Christmas Day falls in the period, so confirm which rate applies before you book a holiday meal.
- The $3++ tea charge is compulsory for every guest.
- Wastage charge: leftovers are billed at $5++ per 100g, so order in rounds.
- Dine-in only, and nothing can be taken away.
- Menu items depend on availability, and Ban Heng may swap or withdraw dishes without notice.
Tips
- Go for lunch. The weekday price is the same at lunch and dinner, but only lunch gets the dim sum section.
- Order the four one-time dishes first. They are the most expensive items on the chit, and the crab counts as one piece per person, not one crab.
- Take the shuttle. Orchid Country Club's free shuttle leaves Yishun MRT Exit B at 10 and 40 minutes past the hour, but there is no bus between 10.10am and 11.40am. For an 11.30am lunch, take the 10.10am bus or a short ride. The timetable on Ban Heng's site dates from April 2024, so check it with the club.
