BlueSG fans, your daily commute hack is back. Flexar — the rebranded relaunch of the EV car-sharing service that paused operations in August 2025 — officially launched in Singapore on Monday, 4 May 2026 after a three-week beta phase that started 15 April.
The new service is run by the same parent (Goldbell Group) but with three meaningful upgrades: a mixed fleet of EV and petrol vehicles (the original BlueSG was all-electric), 100 pickup/drop-off stations at launch (BlueSG had ~380 at peak but coverage was inconsistent), and a point-to-point model that lets you grab a car at one station and return it at any other Flexar station islandwide.
What it costs
Tiered per-minute pricing during the launch period:
- First 5 minutes: FREE
- Minutes 6–20: S$0.52 / minute
- After the first hour: S$0.44 / minute
- Plus: a fixed platform fee per trip
- Includes: petrol or electricity used during the trip
- Does NOT include: ERP charges, parking fees while the rental is active
For a sample 25-minute trip: 0 + 15×0.52 + 5×0.52 ≈ S$10.40 + platform fee. Compare with a similar 25-minute Grab ride in the same areas which typically runs S$15–22 with surge.
The launch promo: S$10 welcome voucher
New users registering during the two-week launch window from 4 May 2026 get a S$10 welcome voucher that auto-applies to the first trip. That's roughly equivalent to a 20-minute trip free — enough to cover a Tampines-to-Bedok hop or a Hougang-to-Sengkang shop run.
Who can register
- Singaporean / PR / employment-pass holder, aged 18+
- Valid Singapore Class 3 / 3A driving licence (Class 2B-only riders not eligible — petrol cars need Class 3)
- No deposit, no membership fee
- Sign up entirely via the Flexar app using Singpass MyInfo — most users finish onboarding in under 5 minutes
- App available on iOS and Android
Where it works (and where it doesn't yet)
Flexar's 100 launch stations are clustered in:
- Northeast: Punggol, Sengkang, Hougang
- East: Tampines, Bedok-adjacent
- North: Ang Mo Kio, Bishan
- Central: Toa Payoh, Novena-adjacent
Coverage of west and south Singapore (Jurong East/West, Bukit Batok, Bukit Merah, Telok Blangah, Pasir Panjang) is currently limited. Flexar has stated islandwide expansion is on the roadmap but hasn't published specific dates. If your daily commute is between two non-covered estates, this won't replace your Grab-and-MRT routine yet.

The pricing math splits clearly: under 30 minutes one-way, Flexar wins. Over 2 hours round-trip, GetGo or Tribecar wins. For 30 mins to 1 hour either-way, do the math each time — Flexar's free first 5 minutes can swing it.
Bottom line
If you live in any Flexar-covered estate and you've ever wanted a car for a quick 15–30-min one-way trip without paying S$20+ for Grab, this is genuinely the best new-user deal in Singapore right now. Sign up with Singpass, claim the S$10 welcome voucher within the first two weeks, and try it on a low-stakes errand before relying on it for anything important. The BlueSG-era complaints about car cleanliness and battery levels are issues to watch — early Flexar reviews are largely positive but the service is still in its first month.
