Orchard Road's bubble-tea scene is about to get another contender. Black Tree (泰茶) — a China Thai-tea brand that went viral for its '400-Times Lava Thai Tea' — is opening soon in Singapore.

> Heads-up: the exact location and opening date haven't been officially confirmed yet — the store is currently behind an 'opening soon' hoarding. We'll update this once Black Tree announces details.

What is Black Tree?

A Thai-tea specialty brand from China, with its flagship at Shenzhen Bay MixC and outlets across cities including Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing and Hangzhou. It's built a name on bold, intense flavours and very photogenic drinks — and it's now heading to Orchard Road, joining the wave of China tea brands (Molly Tea, Chagee and more) expanding here.

The signature: 400-Times Lava Thai Tea

ElementWhat to expect
InspirationHand-whipped '400-times' coffee (dalgona-style airy foam)
BaseSweet, aromatic Thai milk tea + the bitterness of coffee
ToppingThick, cloud-like cheese-cream 'lava' foam
Other basesThai tea, cocoa and coffee — all rich and intense

It's as much about texture and looks as flavour — that melting cheese-cream foam over a deep Thai-tea base is the photo everyone's posting.
