Afternoon tea is a year-round service at most of these hotels, so this works whether you are booking for a Tuesday or for Mother's Day (next: Sunday 9 May 2027). We compared 10 of Singapore's best hotel afternoon teas on what actually decides the booking: everyday prices re-checked on 31 October 2026, seating times, dress codes, how far ahead each fills up, and which ones let you skip the peak-Sunday scrum.

The most iconic afternoon tea address in Singapore, and the one that most reads as an occasion in its own right.THE PRICE: the Classic Afternoon Tea at The Grand Lobby is $108++ per person, up from $98++ on a menu dated 1 September 2026. A gluten-free version is on the menu at the same $108, and vegetarian requests can be accommodated if you flag them when booking.THE SPREAD: delicate finger sandwiches, home-baked scones, and cakes and seasonal treats on a classic three-tier silver stand, with teas curated by tea sommeliers from JING ranging from classic English blends to floral and Asian flavours. Champagne by the glass runs from $20 for Billecart-Salmon Brut, through $30 for the Rosé and $40 for Louis Roederer Collection, to $190 for Cristal 2015.SERVING HOURS: daily 12.30pm to 5.30pm inside the 1887 colonial property. The most reliably interesting menu on this list, because it changes. The Lobby Lounge serves afternoon tea from 1pm to 5pm at $68++ per person, and rotates through themed chapters several times a year rather than serving one fixed spread. The summer Herbs and Blossoms chapter ended on 31 August 2026. The current one, the Curious Traveller Afternoon Tea, runs 15 September to 22 November 2026 at the same price, with savouries themed on different countries (king crab laksa somen, a wagyu beef puff) and a $15 Little Curious Traveller set for children with each paying adult. After 22 November the booking page lists a plain Afternoon Tea at Lobby Lounge, daily 1pm to 5pm, with no theme or price yet. Past editions have included a Shanghai Tang collaboration and a Jo Malone London scent-led set where each bite tracked a signature perfume note. That rotation is the reason to go: if mum has done hotel afternoon tea before, this is the one most likely to be different from the last time. It also means checking the current chapter before you book, since the theme in May will not be the theme you read about now. Marina Bay location, so easy to pair with a walk after.

The pick when the occasion needs a sense of theatre. The Ritz Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore now publishes its afternoon tea price: the current Muscat Grape Afternoon Tea is from $68++ per person, served daily from 3pm to 5pm since 3 August 2026, with a Muscat Blush welcome drink and a live pianist through the service. Two champagne versions are on the menu: $88 per person with a glass of Barons de Rothschild Ritz Réserve Brut, or $146 with 90 minutes of free-flow of the same. The booking page takes Muscat Grape reservations only to 5 November.FESTIVE TEA: from 6 November the lounge switches to a Festive Afternoon Tea, daily 3pm to 5pm, with no price published yet.DRESS CODE: Smart Casual, per the booking page. It has historically been the most ceremonial version of this ritual in the city, and past Mother's Day sittings have added savouries, classic scones with homemade jam, honey and clotted cream, unlimited artisanal desserts and a takeaway for each guest. Because the menu is seasonal, both the spread and the price change through the year, and festive editions usually cost more. The best balance of price, polish and convenience here, and the widest serving window of any entry. Ginger.Lily at Hilton Singapore Orchard has retired its $65++ Root to Bloom set. The only afternoon tea on its page now is the Botanical Afternoon Tea reimagined with MICHELIN-starred Shisen Hanten by Chen Kentaro, at $68++ per diner with a minimum of two and unlimited coffee and tea, running 3 August to 3 November 2026. It folds Szechwan cooking into the botanical format with dishes like a duo of Zhangcha duck and foie gras sablé and a pecan 'ma lai gao'. Hours are Monday to Friday 12pm to 7pm, and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 11.30am to 7pm, with last orders at 6.30pm and each table held for a two-hour seating. Moët & Chandon Impérial Brut is $20++ a glass or $110++ a bottle.FESTIVE TEA: from 4 November 2026 to 3 January 2027 the booking page switches to a Festive Afternoon Tea, daily on the same two-hour seating, with smoked cod carpaccio with caviar, chestnut venison Wellington, a mini Mont Blanc and a 30-day-aged fruit cake. No price is published yet. Straight off Orchard MRT, which matters if mum would rather not walk far.

The most memorable setting here, and quietly the best value. 1-Arden sits on the 51st floor of CapitaSpring in the Raffles Place CBD, inside the world's highest food forest: a 10,000 sq ft sky garden growing more than 150 herb and vegetable varieties, many of which end up on the plate. The Garden-to-Table High Tea is $75++ per set for two with tea or coffee included, and additional guests are $38++ each, which works out to around $38 a head in a room nobody else on this list can match. A new September to December 2026 menu is running now, and a cocktail adds $10++. Served Sunday to Friday 3pm to 4.30pm (last serving 4pm). Saturday runs longer: the event page gives 3pm to 5pm, while the booking page offers two sittings at 2pm and 3.30pm (last serving 4.30pm), so choose your slot there.CHRISTMAS: a Festive High Tea runs on 24 and 27 December 2026 only, at $98++ per set for two with one festive cocktail each. A Mother's Day Sunday booking is possible here. Capacity is limited and tower access takes a few minutes, so arrive early.

The one entry that isn't a fixed set, which for some mums is the whole argument. L'Espresso at Goodwood Park Hotel, a heritage property on Scotts Road dating to 1900, runs an English Afternoon Tea Buffet rather than a three-tier stand, so scones, sandwiches and pastries are refilled to taste. Monday to Thursday it's $65++ per adult and $39++ per child, 2pm to 5.30pm; Friday to Sunday and public holidays it's $68++ per adult and $40.80++ per child, across two seatings at 12pm to 2.30pm and 3pm to 5.30pm. Child rates apply to ages 6 to 11, making this the most family-practical option on the list if the outing includes grandchildren. L'Espresso also rotates themed buffet editions through the year and periodically runs a discounted rate. The Local Palate edition at the prices above ended on 30 September 2026. From 1 October to 30 November it is the Pretty in Kunafa Afternoon Tea Buffet for breast cancer awareness month, at a flat $68++ per adult and $46++ per child every day (so weekdays cost $3 more), with $2 per paying adult donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation. The most photogenic outing on this list, at the lowest price per head. Wildseed Café occupies The Alkaff Mansion, a restored 1918 colonial villa on Telok Blangah Hill surrounded by garden rather than marble. It is a genuinely different setting from the Orchard hotel cluster, and pets are welcome at the outdoor tables. The Afternoon Tea Set is $34++ per pax with a minimum of two, so $68++ for a pair with coffee or tea included, the cheapest per-person figure here. It's served daily 2pm to 4.30pm; the café itself is open 8am to 5pm with last order at 4.30pm, at 10 Telok Blangah Green. The September 2026 menu leans local, with rendang beef pastry, satay kueh pie tee, otah bruschetta, a gula melaka scone and yam ang ku kueh jelly among the items. The race-season Circuit de Jardin High Tea (same $34++) ended on 31 October, and as of that day nothing was announced for November, so confirm what is being served before you book.CHRISTMAS: The Season of Bows & Blooms Christmas Afternoon Tea runs 1 to 31 December 2026 at the same $34++ per person (minimum two). Wildseed rotates the set through the year, so check the current menu before booking, and note that reservations are recommended because the garden tables go first.

The most unusual setting on this list, and the least certain listing. Cassia, the Cantonese restaurant at Capella Singapore on Sentosa, no longer mentions its East Meets West afternoon tea: its page now lists only lunch and dinner, and its booking page sells a dim sum lunch at $88++ per person instead. The tea moved next door. At its launch on 26 June 2026, press coverage reported Capella's first official Afternoon Tea in Tanah Merah I, one of the resort's restored 1880s colonial bungalows right outside Cassia, served Fridays to Sundays from 3pm to 5pm at S$88++ per adult and S$44++ per child aged 12 and under, with champagne and caviar pairings available. The hotel's own website does not list it, and on 17 October 2026 it was also missing from Capella's festive 2026 programme and from every restaurant's booking calendar through 25 December. Treat those figures as the launch terms and confirm the tea is still running before you plan the trip. Getting there is easier than Sentosa suggests: a free hotel shuttle runs from VivoCity.

A genuine heritage setting two minutes from City Hall MRT, in a hotel that blends the restored Capitol Theatre and Stamford House facades with European-luxury interiors.THE DEAL: the Once Upon a Christmas Afternoon Tea runs from 9 November to 31 December 2026 at $59++ per person, including TWG tea, in two daily seatings, 12.30pm to 2.30pm and 3pm to 5pm. The one to watch rather than book right now. One-Ninety Bar at Four Seasons Hotel Singapore ran The Italian Job afternoon tea ($68++ with coffee or tea, $89++ with a cocktail) on Fridays and Saturdays until 5 September 2026, and no afternoon tea set has replaced it. Since 11 September the bar's alfresco terrace has run as the Garden Café instead, daily from 11am to 6pm: an à la carte menu from the hotel's pastry kitchen, with a rotating Cake of the Day, cakes at $14++ to $16++, sandwiches at $16++ to $18++ and tea at $13++, to eat in or take away. Cake and tea for two comes to roughly $54++ to $58++, so it works as a looser, cheaper afternoon treat on Orchard Boulevard, but it is not a tiered set. Its Christmas page, checked on 31 October, lists festive brunches, buffets and December cocktails at One-Ninety Bar but no afternoon tea, so do not count on a festive set here.
Visit websitePrices are quoted '++', meaning 10% service charge and 9% GST get added on top, roughly 19.9%, so a $68++ tea lands near $81.50. Several venues also sell afternoon tea as a set for two rather than per head, which is why 1-Arden and Wildseed Café look far cheaper than the mid-tier hotels once you do the division. And most of these menus are seasonal chapters that rotate through the year, so the theme you read about now will not be the theme running in May.
Here's the thing most Mother's Day guides get wrong: they list only the festive menus, which are announced 4 to 6 weeks ahead and vanish the week after. Most venues below run afternoon tea year-round, and the Mother's Day edition is a dressed-up version of the same service in the same room. So this guide compares the permanent offer, because that is what actually tells you whether mum will enjoy the place.

Four Seasons has no afternoon tea set on sale right now. Its Italian Job tea ($68++) ended on 5 September 2026, and since 11 September One-Ninety Bar's terrace has run as an à la carte Garden Café instead. Capitol Kempinski's $59++ Garden Blooms Afternoon Tea ran to 31 October 2026. Its booking page offers only lunch and à la carte from 1 to 8 November, and the Once Upon a Christmas Afternoon Tea takes over from 9 November at the same $59++. Goodwood Park changed buffet on 1 October: the Pretty in Kunafa edition runs to 30 November at $68++ per adult every day ($46++ per child), and the hotel donates $2 to the Breast Cancer Foundation for each paying adult. L'Espresso's page also lists a $55 rate for seniors aged 60 and above every Tuesday to 30 November (not on public holidays or their eves). Raffles' one-week Race Week Champagne Afternoon Tea ($138++) ended on 14 October, and its Festive Afternoon Tea menu, published on 30 October, prices the December tea at $118++. The Ritz Lounge's $68++ Muscat Grape tea is bookable to 5 November, then a festive tea takes over from 6 November without a published price. Capella's figure comes from press coverage of its June 2026 launch rather than the hotel's own site, so confirm it when you call. Note too that only Goodwood Park's L'Espresso is a buffet, so on every other entry "refills" are not on the table.

Mandarin Oriental, Goodwood Park, Capella and Four Seasons had announced no festive afternoon tea yet. Four Seasons' Christmas page lists festive brunches, buffets and December cocktails at One-Ninety Bar, but no tea.
This is the question that most often gets asked after the booking is made, and only one venue here publishes a hard rule.
Raffles is the strict one. The Grand Lobby states its dress code as "Casual Chic" and spells out what that means: gentlemen are encouraged to wear collared shirts, trousers and appropriate footwear, with dress shorts permitted at lunch; ladies in dresses, skirts or trousers with appropriate footwear. The part that actually turns people away is the footwear, because slip-ons, flip-flops, rubber clogs, sandals and similar styles are not permitted. If you are booking Raffles, closed shoes are the single thing to get right.
Ginger.Lily has no published dress code. It is the venue people ask about most after Raffles, so to be clear: Hilton Singapore Orchard does not state a dress code for afternoon tea at Ginger.Lily. Smart casual with closed shoes reads correctly in its conservatory-style lounge, and that is all you need.
Three state smart casual. Capitol Kempinski's Lobby Lounge page lists Smart Casual, as does Four Seasons' One-Ninety Bar. The Ritz Lounge's booking page says Smart Casual too, and some of its listings add that slippers and activewear are not permitted and gentlemen need covered shoes.
Everywhere else is smart casual by convention, not by rule. Mandarin Oriental, Goodwood Park and Capella do not publish a dress code for afternoon tea, but all are hotel lounges. Smart casual with closed shoes reads correctly in every one of them, and nobody will stop you at the door in a neat dress or a collared shirt.
Two are genuinely relaxed. Wildseed Café at Alkaff Mansion is a garden villa café that welcomes pets at its outdoor tables, so it is the most informal setting on this list. 1-Arden sits inside an office tower, so you will pass through a corporate lobby to reach it. Smart casual is the natural fit, and note that tower access takes a few minutes.
One thing worth separating out: a dress code is not the same as a time limit. Several venues here run a fixed two-hour seating, and 1-Arden has a stated last-serving time (4pm Sun–Fri, 4.30pm Sat), so arriving late costs you the sitting regardless of what you wear.
Singapore follows the second-Sunday-of-May convention, which makes it Sunday 9 May 2027, then Sunday 14 May 2028. Hotels almost never confine the offer to the Sunday itself. Most run a Saturday-and-Sunday window to spread demand, and several stretch it across a week or the whole month. That matters more than the date does: the Sunday sittings are the ones that sell out and carry the highest price, so if the point is to treat mum rather than to eat on one specific afternoon, booking the Friday or the following weekend gets you the same menu with none of the scramble.

Entry, S$34 to S$38 per person: Wildseed Café at Alkaff Mansion ($34++ per pax, minimum two) and 1-Arden ($75++ for two, so $37.50 each), both sold as sets for two rather than per head. Mid-tier, S$65 to S$68 per person: Goodwood Park L'Espresso buffet ($68++ every day for the Pretty in Kunafa buffet from 1 October to 30 November 2026; regularly $65++ Monday to Thursday, $68++ Friday to Sunday and public holidays) and the $68++ hotel-lounge sets: Mandarin Oriental Lobby Lounge (to 22 November), plus The Ritz Lounge (to 5 November) and Hilton Orchard's Ginger.Lily (to 3 November, minimum two), which both move to festive teas with no published price. Capitol Kempinski's Christmas tea is $59++ from 9 November. Premium, S$88++ and up: Capella's weekend tea (reported at $88++ at its June 2026 launch) and Raffles Grand Lobby at $108++, up from $98++ on 1 September 2026 (its Festive Afternoon Tea is $118++ in December). Four Seasons has no afternoon tea set at the moment: its One-Ninety Bar runs an à la carte Garden Café instead. Remember the '++': 10% service charge plus 9% GST adds about 19.9%, so a $68++ tea is roughly $81.50 on the bill. Expect Mother's Day editions to sit above these everyday rates.
Menus typically go live 4 to 6 weeks ahead, so early-to-mid April for a May Mother's Day, and the better properties open reservations at the same time. Book as soon as they drop. In past years the premium rooms (Raffles, Mandarin Oriental, Capella, The Ritz Lounge, 1-Arden) have gone 1 to 2 weeks out for prime Sunday slots, while mid-tier hotels usually still have something 3 to 5 days before, generally at the least convenient times. Venues with long windows, such as Goodwood Park, Wildseed Café and Mandarin Oriental's month-long seasonal sets, stay bookable the longest. One practical note: several of these run a fixed two-hour seating, so a late-afternoon slot is not a soft booking you can drift into.
Three genuinely sidestep the Orchard-hotel cluster. 1-Arden sits on the 51st floor of CapitaSpring in the CBD, inside a 10,000 sq ft sky garden growing more than 150 herb and vegetable varieties, and it is the only one on this list where the setting rather than the food is the reason to go. It serves Sunday to Friday 3pm to 4.30pm and Saturday 3pm to 5pm, so the Sunday sitting is bookable, and because it is a CBD tower rather than a hotel lobby even that slot avoids the Orchard crush. Wildseed Café occupies a restored 1918 colonial villa on Telok Blangah Hill, surrounded by garden rather than marble. Capella is on Sentosa, reachable by free hotel shuttle from VivoCity; press coverage of its June 2026 launch placed its afternoon tea in Tanah Merah I, a restored 1880s colonial bungalow beside Cassia, on Fridays to Sundays only, but the hotel's own site does not list it, so call before you plan around it. All three read as an outing rather than a meal, which is usually the point.
Raffles is the only venue on this list with a detailed rule. Its Grand Lobby sets its dress code as "Casual Chic" and defines it: gentlemen are encouraged to wear collared shirts, trousers and appropriate footwear (dress shorts are permitted at lunch), ladies dresses, skirts or trousers with appropriate footwear. Historically they are close to opposites, which is why the labels confuse people. Afternoon tea is the light mid-afternoon service of finger sandwiches, scones and pastries on a tiered stand, taken in a low lounge chair, and that is what every venue on this list actually serves. High tea was a working-class evening meal taken at a high dining table, closer to a dinner of meat, pies and bread than to anything on a cake stand. In Singapore the two terms long ago collapsed into one, and 'high tea' now gets used for everything including hotel buffet spreads, so don't read anything into which phrase a venue uses. The distinction that does change your booking is set versus buffet: a set is a fixed portion per person, a buffet is refilled to taste. Of the ten venues here, only Goodwood Park's L'Espresso is a buffet.
