Chicken rice is arguably Singapore's most iconic dish — a deceptively simple plate of poached or roasted chicken served over fragrant rice, with a side of chilli and ginger sauce. But not all chicken rice is created equal. We spent weeks visiting hawker centres, kopitiams, and restaurants across the island to bring you the definitive top 10 list for 2025.

Whether you prefer the silky smooth Hainanese-style poached chicken or the crispy-skinned roasted version, this list has something for every chicken rice lover.

Famous for being awarded a Michelin star in 2016 — once dubbed 'the world's cheapest Michelin-starred meal' before the Chinatown Complex stall lost the star in 2021.
