KFC Singapore has announced "The Ultimate Launch by KFC" — a Pokémon collaboration that runs 19 August to 29 September 2026 and touches all 71 outlets on the island. It is the chain's biggest tie-up of the year, and it is three campaigns stacked into one: a limited-time Japanese menu, two waves of collectible merchandise, and a layer of in-store experiences built around Pokémon GO and the Trading Card Game.
> Quick view: 19 Aug – 29 Sep 2026 · Japanese Nanban menu from $3.95 · Blind-box pouch $14.95 (from 19 Aug) · Poké Ball Bucket $12.95, Gaming Chopsticks $15.95, neck pillow set $32.95, Charizard jacket $99 (all from 9 Sep) · 5 type-themed outlets · all 71 stores become Pokémon GO PokéStops & Gyms · Pikachu meet-and-greet 29 Aug · 200+ free TCG tutorials 12–20 Sep · The catch: every collectible is a paid add-on gated behind a food purchase, and the pouch is a blind box.
The food: a Japanese Nanban menu
From 19 August, KFC adds a seasonal Japanese-inspired range. The headline item is the Japanese Nanban Zinger, from $7.50 — the usual Zinger fillet, brushed with Nanban sauce (a sweet-and-tangy soy glaze) and finished with Japanese-style tartar. Around it:
- Japanese Nanban Chicken Bites (6pc) — from $6.90
- Japanese Nanban Loaded Fries — $5.95
- Sweet Potato Balls — from $3.95
All four are sold à la carte and in meals, box meals, buddy meals and family feasts. KFC Singapore is MUIS halal-certified.
This matters beyond dinner: the Nanban Zinger and the Chicken Bites Box are the keys that unlock most of the merchandise below. If you want a collectible, you are buying one of those.
Wave one — from 19 August
Pokémon Reversible Everyday Blind Pouch — $14.95 with any Japanese Nanban Zinger or Chicken Bites Box. It is sold as a Poké Ball and turns inside out into one of four designs: Pikachu (yellow), Eevee (brown), Mew (pink) or Snorlax (blue). It is a genuine blind box — you cannot choose. Dine-in and takeaway only, while stocks last, and the Singapore Zoo and Sentosa outlets are excluded.
Pokémon Sticker Sheet — FREE, and the only free item in the whole campaign. You get it with an Original Recipe Twister Meal, American Twister Meal, O.R. Riser Meal or O.R. Riser with Egg Meal ordered with a Milo, at breakfast stores before 11am, on dine-in, takeaway, GrabFood and foodpanda.
Wave two — from 9 September
- Poké Ball Bucket — $12.95 with a 5pc Chicken Bucket. A 23cm-diameter storage container in the shape of a Poké Ball. Singapore Zoo and Sentosa excluded, while stocks last.
- KFC Gaming Chopsticks — $15.95 with any Japanese Nanban Zinger or Chicken Bites order, in Pikachu or Gengar designs. Delivery only — the KFC Delivery app, GrabFood or foodpanda.
- Pikachu Car Neck Pillow — $32.95 for a set of two, with a Nanban Zinger or Chicken Bites Box. Sold only at participating drive-thru and extended-hour stores, from 11am.
- Pokémon Evolution Jacket — $99, carrying the Charmander → Charmeleon → Charizard evolution line on the back, with a dine-in or takeaway purchase of a Nanban Zinger or Chicken Bites Box. Available at five outlets only — Kallang, Jurong Point, Bedok Town Square, Causeway Point and SCAPE — and limited to one per person.
The experiences
Five type-themed outlets. KFC is redecorating five restaurants along Pokémon type lines, each with themed displays and photo spots: NEX (Water), JEM (Fire), Kallang (Electric), Compass One (Ghost) and Jurong Point (Grass).
Pokémon GO. From 19 August, all 71 KFC outlets in Singapore become PokéStops and Gyms for the length of the campaign.
Pikachu meet-and-greet, 29 August 2026 — three stores, half an hour each: KFC Kallang 11–11.30am, KFC SCAPE 2–2.30pm, KFC Jurong Point 5–5.30pm.
Trading Card Game tutorials, 12–20 September 2026. Over 200 free "New Trainer Journey" beginner sessions at the five themed outlets. Register through the official Pokémon Trading Card Game Trainer's Website — first-come-first-served, one account per person. Finish a session and you walk out with a paper playmat, a reward voucher and a battle deck of two 30-card decks.
KFC Singapore's marketing lead framed the campaign around experience rather than product, noting that younger diners "consume experiences" — which is a fair description of a promotion built on themed stores, card games and a Pokémon GO map layer as much as on chicken.
The fine print worth knowing
- Nothing here is a free toy. Every collectible is a paid add-on that only unlocks with a specific food purchase. The $14.95 pouch really costs $14.95 plus a Nanban Zinger (from $7.50) — call it $22.45 before sides. Budget accordingly.
- The pouch is a blind box. Four designs, no choosing. Collecting all four by buying is an expensive gamble; trading is cheaper.
- The jacket is the hardest item to get. $99, five stores, one per person, no online sale, and it only lands on 9 September.
- Channel restrictions cut both ways. The pouch and jacket are dine-in/takeaway; the chopsticks are delivery-only; the neck pillows exist only at drive-thru and extended-hour stores.
- Two outlets sit the merch out entirely — Singapore Zoo and Sentosa get no pouch and no bucket.
- Everything is while stocks last. KFC collectible drops in Singapore have run out at popular malls within days before, so if one specific item matters to you, go early in its window.
- The TCG sessions need registration, not a walk-in. One account per person, and the themed outlets are all high-traffic malls.
