Jumpstart at Rochester Commons: 30+ Kids' Holiday Workshops From $40, Plus Free Real Madrid Basketball and Drone Soccer (30 Nov to 4 Dec)

Catapult's new Jumpstart programme turns Rochester Commons in one-north into a five-day holiday campus for kids aged 7 to 15, from 30 November to 4 December 2026, 9am to 6pm. Over 30 workshops run across four tracks, from AI and LEGO robotics to a Singapore Repertory Theatre camp, with paid sessions from $40 (OCBC's Money Lab) to $1,200 (a 3-day nature camp). Around them sits a genuinely free layer: Real Madrid Foundation basketball trials, drone soccer, a chess challenge and a Crayola competition.

One-north gets a kids' campus for the year-end holidays. Catapult, the executive learning centre at CapitaLand Development's Rochester Commons, is running its first Jumpstart school-holiday programme from 30 November to 4 December 2026, 9am to 6pm daily, for children aged 7 to 15. The pitch, announced in a media release on 4 November: 30+ hands-on workshops from 15+ partners, AI and robotics to theatre and financial literacy, wrapped in a layer of free activities that includes Real Madrid Foundation basketball trials and drone soccer.

We walked the full booking list on 6 November: paid workshops run $40 to $1,200, with most single sessions between $68 and $168. The $40 floor is OCBC's MyOwn Money Lab (2pm to 5pm daily, separate runs for ages 7 to 11 and 12 to 15), where kids manage a simulated $100 budget.

The free layer

  • Real Madrid Foundation basketball trials, in two bands: ages 7 to 10 and 11 to 14
  • Drone Soccer Challenge, all ages
  • Chess Challenge, all ages
  • Little Critter Cove, a tiny-creatures discovery session for ages 5 to 12
  • Mandarin Word Hunt with WuKong, ages 5 to 12
  • Decorate-your-own Christmas keychain, all ages
  • Crayola Creativity Week Competition, ages 3 to 12

Free activities are open to families around the campus, but selected sessions need advance registration, so check each listing before turning up.

What this means for you

  • You can do this for $0. The free layer alone, basketball trial plus drone soccer plus chess, fills an afternoon, and nothing obliges you to book a paid workshop.
  • The $40 Money Lab is the value pick. Three hours of hands-on financial literacy from OCBC at the price of a movie outing, and it runs every day of the programme.
  • Book by age band. Several activities split into 7-10 and 11-14 (or similar) bands, and siblings can attend different workshops on the same day.
  • Getting there is easy without a car. Rochester Commons is about 7 minutes' walk from both Buona Vista (CC22/EW21) and one-north (CC23) MRT; parking is at Rochester Commons itself, Rochester Mall or The Star Vista.
  • The venue is a draw in its own right. Catapult's 5,106 sqm campus has 35 studios, including Singapore's first commercial 180-degree immersive studio, spaces normally reserved for corporate leadership programmes.
