A new Sanrio collectible is doing the rounds: a Hello Kitty × Merlion SimplyGo EZ-Link card, showing Hello Kitty under a little red polka-dot umbrella beside the Merlion, carrying the "© 2026 SANRIO CO., LTD." mark. It's the newest design in the ongoing "Hello Singapore" Sanrio × Singapore Icons EZ-Link line — the same series that has already given us bus-stop, kaya-toast, HDB-block and dragon-playground cards.
The key details
- Price: $10 each
- Stored value: None — the card comes with no travel credit, so top it up before your first tap
- Where: EZ-Link / SimplyGo vending machines at malls across Singapore (find your nearest via the vending machine locator). Rollout is progressive and it's while stocks last
- Usable, not just collectible: it's a standard SimplyGo EZ-Link card you can actually use on the MRT and buses
The 'Hello Singapore' Sanrio pop-up Running alongside the cards is a free Sanrio pop-up at Marina Square (Level 2, Marina Foyer), now till 16 August 2026, 11am–10pm daily. Expect local-icon photo backdrops (Merlion, dragon playground, retro bus stop, hawker scenes) and plenty of merch: Mr. Merlion plushies (~$39) with Hello Kitty and Kuromi dressed as Merlions, tees ($29–$35), totes / pouches / lunch bags ($29), blind-box sets ($23), DIY keychain customisation, and a Sanrio Kuji lucky draw ($10 per try). There are also minimum-spend freebies while stocks last.
Heads-up: these Sanrio EZ-Link cards are popular and sell out fast, so if a machine near you has the Merlion design in stock, it's usually a grab-it-now situation.
