Crystal Jade Hong Kong Kitchen is running a Family Roast Bundle for five to six people at $106.82 for Jadeite members, against a $160.88 usual price, from 1 September right through to 31 December 2026.

What is in the bundle

  • Lucky 5 Crispy Chicken, your choice of whole or chopped.
  • Crispy Pork Belly, roughly 360g, again whole or chopped.
  • One carb of your choosing: Classic Hong Kong Egg Noodle with shredded char siew and superior soya sauce, or Yang Zhou fried rice.

That is a roast chicken, a pork belly and a shared noodle or rice dish, which is a fairly standard zi char spread for a family table.

About that $98

Almost every writeup of this bundle prices it at $98, with a usual price of $147.60. Crystal Jade's own e-store prices it at $106.82 for members and $160.88 usual, and the product page states plainly that all prices shown on the e-store include 9% GST.

Both sets of numbers describe the same deal. Add 9% to $98 and you get $106.82; add 9% to $147.60 and you get $160.88. The aggregators are quoting the before-tax figures, and Crystal Jade is quoting what leaves your wallet. Budget for the higher pair.

The saving itself is unchanged either way: $54.06 off, about 34%. Split five ways that is $21.36 a head, and six ways it is $17.80.

The fine print

  1. Jadeite members only. The discounted price is not available to walk-in non-members. Membership is free and you sign up in the Crystal Jade SG mobile app.
  2. Pre-order at least three working days ahead, through the e-store or as an in-store takeaway pre-order. Weekends and public holidays do not count towards those three days, so a Saturday collection means ordering around midweek.
  3. No delivery. Self-collection only.
  4. Tampines One is excluded. Every other Crystal Jade Hong Kong Kitchen outlet takes part.
  5. No JPoints may be earned or redeemed on the entire bill, not just on the bundle.
  6. No stacking with set menus, other promotions, discounts or discount vouchers.
  7. Cash vouchers do work for in-store pre-orders, including mall vouchers and Crystal Jade vouchers, but corporate vouchers are excluded.
  8. E-store orders are final. You present the confirmation email at collection, and no changes or cancellations are allowed once the order is confirmed. The bundle also needs its own checkout and cannot be combined with self-collection items from other outlets.

If five to six is too many

The same takeaway page carries bento sets at Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao, at every outlet except Changi Airport T1. On the e-store the Vegetarian Bento is $13.80 and Bento Sets A, B and C are $14.80 each, being sauteed chicken bites with honey bean sauce, sauteed fish fillet with ginger and spring onion, and crisp-fried pork rib with Korean citron mayonnaise.

Every set comes with chilled black fungus and lily bulb, stir-fried French bean with minced and crispy garlic, white rice and iced pu-er tea, and $2.90 more swaps the white rice for Shanghai fried rice with prawn, chicken and ham. They are on GrabFood, foodpanda and Oddle too, but Crystal Jade warns that delivery prices differ from outlet and e-store prices, so it is worth comparing.

Tips

  • Join Jadeite before you check out. The member price is the only discounted price, and signing up in the app costs nothing.
  • Count backwards from your meal. Three working days is the minimum, not the typical wait, and a long weekend pushes it further out.
  • Sort out collection first. With no delivery option, somebody has to be free to fetch it from the outlet.
  • Do not expect points. The whole bill is excluded from earning and redeeming JPoints, so a big order earns you nothing back.
