Sheng Siong opened its Blk 905 Woodlands Avenue 5 store on Thursday 10 September 2026, and put the full opening advertisement on its own corporate site the same day. The sheet is a 7 Days Special, and one red band along the bottom of it decides how you read every price on the page: Exclusive @ Blk 905 Woodlands Avenue 5. Seven days, one address.
> Quick view: 10 to 16 September 2026 at Blk 905 Woodlands Avenue 5 #02-01 only, daily 7am to 11pm. Free gifts on a single receipt at $30 (Homeniks dishwashing liquid 750ml, worth $2.60) and $70 (Softess 7+1 roll kitchen towel, worth $6.60), one redemption per receipt. The deepest straight cut is the Coca-Cola Less Sugar carton at $10.95 against a usual $21.15. But the four biggest dollar savings on the sheet are all liquor, and liquor does not count towards either gift threshold. Everything is capped at 3 units per product per customer per transaction, and the beverage prices are quoted before the BCRS 10c deposit.

The store
Blk 905 Woodlands Avenue 5 #02-01, Singapore 730905. Daily 7.00am to 11.00pm, store line 6514 8101. The map printed on the advertisement puts the block beside Woodlands Square, with Marsiling Rise behind it, and the Woodlands temporary bus interchange, Woodlands Xchange, Causeway Point and both Woodlands MRT stations (NS9 on the North South Line, TE2 on the Thomson East Coast Line) within walking distance. For a supermarket, that is about as much footfall as a Singapore address gets.
This one was announced in advance. In its 1H FY2026 results release of 29 July 2026, Sheng Siong Group said it expected three more stores, in Hougang, Rivervale (Sengkang) and Woodlands, to open in the third quarter. Rivervale opened on 4 September and Woodlands is the second of that trio to land, on top of 16 new and comparable new stores opened across FY2025 and the first half of FY2026. The group also said it was awaiting HDB tender results for another store, with two more tenders expected in the following 6 to 12 months.
The opening ceremony ran at 12.00pm on 10 September with a lion dance and gong ceremony, and the store gave out free ice cream and balloons on a first-come first-served basis.
The gifts, and the word that decides whether your basket qualifies
There is no Purchase-with-Purchase headline on this sheet, no king crab cluster of the sort the Rivervale ad led with. What is here is two spend-based gifts, and they are worth less than Rivervale's were: $2.60 and $6.60 against $4.50 and $9.80 a week earlier.
| Mechanic | What you spend | What you get | Worth |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free gift | $70 in a single receipt | Softess Premium 100% Pure Virgin Pulp Kitchen Towel, 2-ply, 7+1 rolls x 60 sheets | $6.60 |
| Free gift | $30 in a single receipt | Homeniks dishwashing liquid, lemon or lime, 750ml | $2.60 |
| Gift with purchase | Any Jean Fresh Kampung or Broiler Fresh Chicken 900g to 1.4kg, $11.10 to $12.00 | Softess Facial Handkerchief Tissue, 2-ply x 5 boxes x 100 sheets | $4.80 |
The free gifts are one redemption per receipt, while stocks last. The line under them is the one to read twice: cigarettes, liquors, Sheng Siong vouchers and infant milk powder stages 1 and 2 are excluded from the qualifying spend.
That matters here more than it did at Rivervale, because on this particular sheet the four deepest dollar savings are all alcohol. Fill a trolley with the two-bottle La Campagne deal and a Carlsberg carton and you have spent $73.60 and saved $51.59, and you walk out with neither gift. As a percentage of a small basket the gifts are respectable, $2.60 on $30 is 8.7% and $6.60 on $70 is 9.4%, but neither is worth padding a shop to reach.
The deepest cuts on the sheet
Sorted by dollars saved rather than by the percentage badge, because the percentage badge flatters the small items.

The fine print that changes the maths
Three lines in the terms do real work.
The 3-unit cap. Purchases are limited to three units per product, per customer, per transaction, unless otherwise stated. Read against a sheet where most of the good prices are quoted for 2 or for 3, that stops the stock-up: three units of a "for 2" line is one pair plus a single, not three pairs.
The BCRS deposit. Advertised prices for applicable beverages exclude the BCRS 10c deposit per can or bottle, so a 24-can carton carries $2.40 on top at the till. The $10.95 Coca-Cola carton is $13.35 paid, the $10.95 100PLUS carton the same, the $40.80 Tiger carton is $43.20 and the $41.80 Carlsberg carton is $44.20. The deposit comes back when you return the empties, so it is money parked rather than money spent, but it is money you hand over on the day.
Stock and timing. Everything is while stocks last on a first-come first-served basis, no traders allowed, and promotional offers run from 0400hrs onwards. Prices were correct at the time of printing and Sheng Siong reserves the right to withdraw any of it without notice.
The 6% that finally reached an opening ad
The footer of this sheet prints the CHAS Special Discount at 6%, every Thursday for CHAS Blue and every Friday for CHAS Orange, valid till 1 January 2027. That is the new rate Sheng Siong published on its corporate promotions page on the same day, and it is the first opening advertisement to carry it. The Rivervale sheet from six days earlier still printed 4%, and so does the two-week store advertisement now in circulation, which went to print on 3 September.
The senior citizen discount did not move: 4%, every Tuesday and Wednesday, Singaporeans and PRs aged 60 and above, valid till 31 December 2026.
Mapped onto these seven days, that gives CHAS Blue Thursday 10 September, the opening day, CHAS Orange Friday 11 September, and seniors Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 September. Both CHAS rates are capped at a maximum spending of $200 per receipt per day, so $12 is the most a single day returns.
If you are not in Woodlands
Sheng Siong is running a separate chain-wide Monthly Promotion from 4 to 17 September 2026, a different advertisement with different items. Its 7th Month Promotion ends today, 10 September, and the Rivervale Mall opening sheet expires today too. The Woodlands sheet does not travel; the monthly one does.
