That end date is not arbitrary: 10 September is the last day of this year's lunar seventh month, which runs 13 August to 10 September, with 中元节 (Zhong Yuan Jie) falling on Thursday 27 August 2026.

What makes this one worth reading properly is that Sheng Siong actually prints the prices. Most festive offering catalogues in Singapore hide behind "ask in store"; this one publishes a full price list, so you can plan a prayer table down to the dollar before you leave the house.

The contents are consistent across tiers — jasmine rice (1kg or 2.5kg), fine sugar, boxed fine salt, cooking oil, canned button mushrooms, canned mackerel, coffee-o sachets, instant oats, rice vermicelli, assorted biscuits, peanuts, chips — with the higher tiers adding items like canned abalone, mushroom vegetarian oyster sauce or white coffee sachets.
The real variable is what it comes packed in. The entry tiers use an insulated shopping bag or a multi-purpose bag; the middle tiers a travel bag, a foldable backpack or a foldable trolley cooler bag; and the $49.80 and $59.80 tiers carry the catalogue's two big items — a 4-wheel TSA-lock luggage case and a foldable 4-wheel shopping trolley (the kind with stair-climbing rear wheels). Sheng Siong sells those two on their own, in the same catalogue, at $39.90 and $29.90.
That is the value test in one line: at the top tiers you are mostly buying the carrier, and the 12–14 grocery items ride along for roughly $20–$30. At the entry tiers you are mostly buying groceries at close to Sheng Siong's own shelf prices, with the bag as the sweetener.

The tiers differ in quantity per line, not in kind — the $98 set has 8 pairs of 皇庄, the $398 set has 36.

All roast items need at least 5 days' advance order. For huat kueh: 220g $1.30, 450g $2.30, 800g $4.60, 1.5kg $12.80, 3kg $28.80, 5.5kg $68.00, and the 4.2kg 宝发盆 at $78.00 — anything 800g and above needs at least 3 days' pre-order.
Work backwards from 27 August and that means roast orders in by roughly 22 August, huat kueh by 24 August.

The fine print worth knowing before you queue
- No stacking with the 4% discounts. The catalogue states it plainly: the 7th Month value packages and special-priced items cannot be combined with the Tuesday/Wednesday senior citizen 4%, the Thursday CHAS Blue Card 4%, the Friday CHAS Orange Card 4%, or online-shopping specials. If you normally time your Sheng Siong runs around those days, this promotion is the exception.
- Substitutions allowed. If an item in a package is short, Sheng Siong may replace it with goods of equivalent value.
- While stocks last, across the full 24 Jul – 10 Sep window.
- The 五牲 A and B offering sets are at selected branches only — call ahead rather than turning up.
