NTUC members can now get into Sentosa free, twice a month. NTUC assistant secretary-general Melvin Yong announced the new benefit on 16 September 2026, and Sentosa has put the full terms on a dedicated NTUC page: link your NTUC membership to a Sentosa Islander account in the MySentosa app, and you can claim up to 2 complimentary island admission e-vouchers every month.

What you get
- Up to 2 e-vouchers per NTUC member per month, each good for one island admission
- A fresh allocation on the 1st of every month. Each voucher is only valid in the month you claim it. Sentosa's own example: claim on 9 September 2026 and it is valid until 30 September 2026
- Any day, including weekends and public holidays, with no blackout dates
- Both vouchers on the same day is allowed, since each carries its own QR code, so two people can travel on one member's allocation
NTUC framed it as part of its push to "stretch the value" of membership for workers and their families.
Who qualifies, and who does not
You need both memberships, active, and linked:
- Active NTUC member with a linked Islander account: yes. NTUC membership must be valid at the moment you claim each voucher, and it is re-checked every time
- NTUC member with no Islander account: no, until you sign up for Islander (free) and link
- Islander member with no NTUC membership: no. The benefit is exclusive to linked Islander-NTUC members
- One NTUC membership, one Islander account. You cannot link the same NTUC membership to a second Islander account
How to link and claim (about five minutes)
- Download the MySentosa app and log in, or sign up for Sentosa Islander for free
- Tap Link now, then the link icon beside the NTUC Membership banner. The same option also sits under Profile, then Settings, then Linked Accounts
- Enter the last 4 characters of your NRIC, your date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY) and the 8-digit mobile number registered with NTUC, and accept the T&Cs
- On the app homepage, scroll to Islander Vouchers, search "ntuc", choose the quantity and slide to claim
- The voucher waits in Pocket (or My vouchers) until you scan it
Sentosa recommends, but does not require, using the same email address for Islander as your NTUC account, because it speeds up support if verification goes wrong. If the check fails, the usual causes are a mistyped detail or a lapsed membership; NTUC's virtual assistant at go.ntuc.org.sg/chat handles both, including a changed mobile number.

It is not valid for goods and services vehicles, or for a private-hire vehicle driven in for work; Sentosa says it covers private vehicles entering for leisure. Motorcycles are not permitted onto the island at all.

What it is actually worth
Be honest with the arithmetic. The ceiling is about $8 a month: two Sentosa Express rides at the $4 standard fare, or two car entries at up to $6 each. Three groups get little or nothing out of it:
- Islander Insider and Priority members already have unlimited complimentary island admission via the Sentosa Express and the gantry. The NTUC vouchers only add value on the free Explorer tier, which is where you start until you reach 400 points
- Anyone who walks in via Sentosa Boardwalk, cycles in, or takes SBS Transit bus 123 pays no island admission fee in the first place (bus 123 still charges its normal distance-based fare)
- Seniors, persons with disabilities, Workfare concession and student concession card holders, and children below 0.9m already ride the Sentosa Express free
Where it does help: a couple or a parent-and-child pair taking the monorail from VivoCity once a month saves the full $8, and a family driving in before 11.30am saves $6 on the car. That is a nice extra on a membership you already hold, not a reason on its own to sign up for NTUC.
The fine print that trips people up
- The QR code in the app is the ticket. A physical NTUC card or eCard is not accepted for the complimentary admission, so do not plan to sort it out at the gate
- Claim before you leave home. Membership status is re-verified at every claim, and a link that worked last month can show inactive if your NTUC dues lapsed
- Unused vouchers do not roll over. A voucher claimed in September dies on 30 September; October's pair appears on 1 October
- Pull the CashCard out of the IU or OBU before driving up to the gantry, or the normal fee may be deducted before you get to scan
- No end date is published. Sentosa's FAQ refers to "the campaign period" but its NTUC page does not state when that period ends, so treat this as a benefit that can be withdrawn

If you are heading over anyway, Sentosa's Mastercard 1-for-1 on attractions still runs to 30 November 2026, and the Islander app is also where Islander-only deals show up.
