Tengah finally has another supermarket to choose from. Prime Supermarket opened at Blk 139 Tengah Garden Ave on Saturday 31 October 2026, and its official Facebook page called on "Tengah residents" to drop by for the grand opening. The store is running ten store-exclusive prices until Monday 9 November, and most of them are on the bulky things you want close to home: carton drinks, rice, detergent and toilet paper.

The Coke carton is the headline: about 46 cents a can before the deposit, against roughly 90 cents at the usual price. The Carlsberg works out to $1.66 a can.
The fine print
- Tengah only. Every poster says "Store Exclusive" and names Blk 139 Tengah Garden Ave. Other Prime outlets do not have these prices.
- While stocks last. All ten offers carry it, and opening-week carton drinks tend to go first.
- Purchase limits. Old Town White Coffee is capped at 4 packs per customer.
- BCRS deposit on top. The Coke and Carlsberg cartons each add $2.40 (10 cents a can), so the till price is $13.35 and $42.35. You get the deposit back when you return the empty cans.
- The free towels need $20 in one receipt. Split your shopping across two bills and neither one qualifies.
- Carlsberg is alcohol. Usual age and liquor-hour rules apply at the till.
Tips
- Plan the $20 receipt. Two Coke cartons alone clear it ($21.90 before deposit), and so does one Dynamo bottle with the rice.
- Go early in the window. The opening weekend is when stock is fullest; by the second week the carton drinks may be patchy.
- Bring a trolley bag. A 5kg rice bag, a detergent bottle and a 24-can carton is a lot to carry back to a Tengah block.
- Check the weekly ad too. Prime's chain-wide 7 Days Offer (30 October to 5 November) has Niseko ice cream at $10.95 a tub and, to Monday 2 November only, cherries at $14.95 for 500g; Prime notes availability varies by store, so look for those tags in the aisle.
- Getting there: new bus services 873 and 874 started running from Tengah on 25 October, linking it with Bukit Gombak and Choa Chu Kang MRT.
