Menu prices are from the food menu on Morganfield's own website. The Rib Sandwich is the biggest cut we can check, $9.90 off or 41%, which lines up with the "up to 40% off" on the brand's poster. The Riblets save $6. Morganfield's printed menu lists its baby back ribs by the full slab only ($40.90 in the classic sauces), so a half slab at $14 is the cheapest way to try the ribs the restaurant is named for.
What $14 really costs
Every $14 item takes 10% service charge and GST, so budget about $16.79 each. A realistic order for two, a Half Slab, a Rib Sandwich and a pitcher to share, is $42 on the menu and about $50.36 on the bill. There is no cap on how many $14 items a table can order, which makes this a good one for groups.
The fine print
- Morganfield's Suntec City only, #01-645/646, outside Promenade MRT Exit C (3 Temasek Boulevard). Open 11am to 10pm Sunday to Thursday, and to 11pm on Friday, Saturday and the eve of public holidays.
- Dine-in only. No takeaway or delivery, and unconsumed food cannot be packed.
- 60 minutes per table. Walk-ins are welcome and some reservation slots are open, but the whole party must be present before you are seated.
- No changes or substitutions, so the ribs stay in hickory sauce.
- At lunch, the $14 items do not come with the Soup of the Day and a drink that the regular lunch sets add.
- No stacking with other promotions, discounts, vouchers or membership privileges, and no split bills.
- While stocks last.
Tips
Go early in the week. The window ends on a Wednesday, so the two weekends in between (26 and 27 September in particular) will be the busiest, and the 60-minute limit bites hardest when the kitchen is slammed. On a weekday lunch, compare it with Morganfield's standing $9.90++ Chicken Lunch Deal (11am to 4pm), which is cheaper if you only want one plate; the $14 ribs are the better buy if you came for pork. And if you want ribs without a limit, the weekend All You Can Eat Ribs Buffet is still $49 per adult.
