Mandai Wildlife Reserve has quietly added a Local Student rate across all five of its parks, and the campaign artwork on its own promotions page sells it as **"Admission from $20* (U.P. $33)"**. The concession is real and it is worth having. The $20 is the part that needs a second look.

> Quick view: student price = child price at every park · Singapore Zoo $27 on a weekday, $30 on a weekend · Night Safari $32 weekday, $36 Fri/Sat · cheapest student price Mandai actually publishes is $25 · student photo ID required at the gate · no end date published.

What the rate actually is

Mandai has not invented a new price band. It has opened the child band to students. Read across the "Ticket Prices at a Glance" table on Mandai's Single Attractions page and the Local Student column is identical to the Child column at every park, on both regular and peak days.

These are the local resident rates:

ParkRegular dayPeak dayLocal adult (regular)Tourist adult (regular)
Exploria$25$26$34$38
River Wonders$26$29$35$45
Singapore Zoo$27$30$39$49
Bird Paradise$27$30$39$49
Rainforest Wild Adventure$32$35$45$55
Night Safari$32$36$48$58

So a student at Singapore Zoo on a weekday pays $27, which is $12 under the local adult rate and $22 under the $49 a tourist adult pays. At Night Safari it is $32 against $48, a saving of $16.

The $20 on the poster

Mandai's artwork says from $20 (U.P. $33), with an asterisk and a "T&Cs apply" line, and the promotions page repeats the same figure. Nothing in the published rate table matches it. The cheapest Local Student price anywhere in the reserve is $25, at Exploria on a regular day, and the next one up is $26 at River Wonders. The $33 is easier to place: that is what a tourist child pays at River Wonders.

We are not saying the $20 does not exist. We are saying Mandai has not published where it applies. If your budget depends on it, ask at the ticket counter, or take the booking as far as the payment screen and read the total before you commit.

The catch is the calendar

The second thing that moves the price is which day you go, and Night Safari does not follow the same rule as the rest:

  1. All parks except Curiosity Cove and Night Safari: regular days are Mondays to Fridays, excluding public holidays. Peak days are Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
  2. Night Safari: regular is Sundays to Thursdays. Peak is Fridays, Saturdays, public holidays and the eves of public holidays. The classic Friday night visit is therefore a $36 student ticket, not $32.
  3. Curiosity Cove additionally treats MOE school holidays as peak.

A weekday visit is worth $3 to $4 a head across the board, and at Night Safari the swing lands on the night most people would have picked.

Who qualifies, and what to bring

Mandai's terms are broad on schools and strict on proof. The concession is open to students from any secondary or tertiary institution in Singapore, including government, private and international schools, and a valid student photo identification card must be presented for verification at the point of entry. Bring the physical card, not a photo of it.

Note also that the local resident prices in that table are described by Mandai as inclusive of WildPass rates. WildPass is free to sign up for local residents, so there is no reason not to have it before you book.

If you are 60 or over, you do better

The senior column is the best deal on the page: a flat $25 at every park, on regular and peak days alike. That beats the student rate everywhere except Exploria on a weekday, where both are $25.

On top of that, Friends of Mandai Senior membership is $93 against a usual $255, with an extra $8 F&B voucher and a limited-edition gift, when you sign up and pay onsite at the Member Services Centre at Mandai Wildlife EAST or WEST with a POSB Everyday Card or PAssion POSB Debit card. It runs 15 April to 31 December 2026, gift while stocks last, and it is open to anyone 60 and above with a Singapore NRIC or FIN shown at application. Since a senior otherwise pays $25 a visit, annual access to five attractions at $93 breaks even on the fourth visit. There is a separate referral version at the same $93 that hands both the referrer and the new member a Friends of Mandai tote bag.
