When True Fitness and True Yoga shut without warning on 10 September, the immediate problem for members was money. The second problem, and the quieter one, was that a few thousand people lost the gym they went to three times a week. HomeTeamNS has now moved on the second problem for one slice of those members.
In an announcement on 18 September, the organisation opened a complimentary three-month membership at its Fitness Workz gyms to Home Team national servicemen and officers whose routines were broken by the closures. No purchase required, no joining fee, no conversion to a paid plan at the end.
The eligibility is narrower than the headline
This is the part worth reading twice, because two conditions have to hold at the same time.

A True member with no Home Team link does not qualify. A Home Team NSman who never set foot in a True Fitness does not qualify either. Worth flagging: HomeTeamNS's own page includes NSFs, full-time national servicemen, which the first reports of the offer did not spell out.
How to activate
There is no online form and no application to submit. You turn up.
- Visit any Fitness Workz gym between 16 September and 15 October 2026
- Present proof of your current True Fitness or True Yoga membership
- Present proof that you are a Home Team NSman or Home Team officer
- The Fitness Workz team activates the membership at the counter
The three gyms are Fitness Workz Garage at HomeTeamNS Bedok Reservoir, Fitness Workz at HomeTeamNS Bukit Batok, and Fitness Workz Premium at HomeTeamNS Khatib.
A shortcut this weekend
If a special trip to a clubhouse is a hassle, Fitness Workz is manning a booth at the REAL Run race entry pack collection, and it will help you activate there:
- When: Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026, 10am to 7pm
- Where: Key Power Sports, #02-169 (opposite Turtle), Marina Square, 6 Raffles Boulevard, Singapore 039594
You do not need to be running REAL Run to use the booth. The race itself is on 3 October at Punggol Digital District, and registration has closed.
What three free months is actually worth
HomeTeamNS does not publish a standalone three-month price on the Fitness Workz page. It publishes the annual rate and the walk-in rate, both inclusive of 9% GST, and those are the honest benchmarks:

Measured against the annual member rate, a quarter of all-day access is about $156. Measured the way most lapsed True members would actually use it, three sessions a week for 13 weeks is 39 visits, which is $351 at the member walk-in rate and $897 at the guest rate. Either way it is a real number, and the gyms cover the three HomeTeamNS clubhouses rather than a single branch.
One practical note if you are comparing against your old True plan: off-peak at Fitness Workz means Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm, and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 7am to 1:30pm. The complimentary membership is a HomeTeamNS grant rather than a plan you pick, so confirm at the counter which access band you are being given.
The fine print
Straight from the T&Cs on HomeTeamNS's offer page:
- Valid for activation from 16 September to 15 October 2026
- Applicants must provide the required proof of eligibility
- Valid for three consecutive months from the date of activation, so activating on the last day runs you to about 15 January 2027
- The membership is personal and non-transferable
- Other Fitness Workz membership terms and conditions apply
- HomeTeamNS reserves the right to amend the promotion or its terms
If you are not Home Team
The money route has not changed, and it is still the first thing to do: file as an unsecured creditor in the liquidation and check your payment method for a chargeback window. The Consumers Association of Singapore has said members reported more than $609,000 in losses from unused memberships, packages and services.
For a gym in the meantime, two things are worth knowing. Civil Service Club members get 10% off any annual Fitness Workz sign-up until 31 March 2027, per HomeTeamNS's own campaign banner, which is a discount rather than a free membership. And several commercial chains advertised switch offers to True members in the days after the closure, including waived sign-up fees and a free first month at selected Anytime Fitness and Snap Fitness branches, as reported by The Straits Times and AsiaOne. Those were branch-level promotions rather than chain-wide policy, so confirm the terms at the outlet itself before signing.

HomeTeamNS has flagged that the closures hit staff as well as members, and is pointing former fitness and wellness employees to open Fitness Workz roles through its JobStreet page.
