Guzman y Gomez is running a $5 Day at its Northpoint City restaurant on Thursday 24 September 2026, with burritos and bowls at $5 from 10.30am to 10pm. It is the celebration of that outlet reopening after a renovation, and it is one restaurant out of GYG's 23.

What GYG has actually published
The offer first appeared on GYG's own blog on 24 August 2026, in the post announcing that the Northpoint restaurant had reopened: "To celebrate our refreshed restaurant, don't miss our $5 Day on 24 September! Enjoy Burritos and Bowls for just $5." That post added that more details would follow closer to the date, and the campaign poster has since filled them in.
The poster gives the whole thing in four lines:
- $5 Burritos & Bowls
- 24 Sep, Thursday, 10.30am to 10pm
- 1 Northpoint Drive, #01-176/177/178, Northpoint City, Singapore 769019
- Fine print: "Only available for dine-in and takeaway. Also available on the GYG App. Other terms and conditions apply."
That last line is worth reading twice, because it is more generous than GYG's own precedent. When GYG opened at Suntec City it ran the same format, a $5 Burrito & Bowl Opening Special on Thursday 28 August 2025, 10.30am to 10pm, and its blog post for that one described it as in-restaurant only. Takeaway and app ordering are new to this edition.
What $5 is worth against GYG's own menu
GYG does not print prices on its website menu pages, but it does publish a downloadable menu, and that menu prices everything:

So $5 takes at least $9.80 off a regular burrito or bowl, a little over two thirds, and at least $5.30 off a mini.
Two things to hold lightly. Those are from prices, which means the cheapest filling, and the better proteins push them up. And GYG's poster says "$5 Burritos & Bowls" without naming a size or a filling list, so it is safer to assume a defined $5 selection than to assume you can build anything you like for $5. Ask before you join the queue.
The catches, in order of how much they matter
- It is one outlet, and it is in Yishun. GYG lists 23 restaurants in Singapore. Twenty-two of them are not in this. If you are not already going to be around Northpoint City, the trip is the real cost of the deal.
- The hours are not an extension. 24 September is a Thursday, and this outlet's normal Thursday hours are 10.30am to 10pm. The $5 window is simply the full trading day, so there is no quiet early slot before the deal starts or a late one after the crowd thins.
- Nothing about size or fillings is published. See above.
- Northpoint City has its own lunchtime crowd. Haidilao's $0.99 pork plates are running weekday lunches at the same mall until 15 October, which is not a coincidence you can plan around so much as a reason to expect company.
If you are going
- Aim off-peak. Between roughly 2pm and 5pm is the gap between the lunch and dinner rushes on a weekday, and the deal runs right through it.
- Order in the app and collect. The poster explicitly allows it, and it is the one lever you have against the queue.
- Bring someone. Two $5 mains is a sit-down Mexican lunch for two at $10 before drinks, which is the sort of number that does not come round often.
Before and after, if you miss it
GYG's two standing deals both fall in the following week. The $3 Brekkie Burrito runs on the 3rd of every month, so the next is Friday 3 October 2026, breakfast hours only. GYG confirmed on 17 September that breakfast starting at Pasir Ris Mall brings that promotion to 20 participating restaurants. $6 Minis runs on the 6th, so the next is Tuesday 6 October 2026.
Also new at this outlet since the renovation: breakfast every Friday to Sunday. Normal hours are 10.30am to 10pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 11pm Friday and Saturday, and 8am to 10pm Sunday.
