Good news for household budgets: eligible Singaporeans will get an enhanced Cost-of-Living Special Payment of $400 to $600 in cash, disbursed in September 2026 — and there's no application needed.
> This was raised from the original Budget 2026 amount as part of the Government's additional cost-of-living support, and it's separate from (and on top of) the $500 CDC Vouchers.
The essentials
| Detail | What you need to know |
|---|---|
| Amount | $400–$600 cash (tiered) |
| When | September 2026 |
| Application | None — credited automatically |
| Who | SG Citizens, 21+ in 2026, AI (YA2025) ≤ $100,000, ≤ 1 property |
| How paid | PayNow-NRIC / bank account / GovCash |
How much will you get?
The exact amount is tiered by your assessable income and the Annual Value (AV) of your home (as at 31 Dec 2025):
- Lower income + lower-AV home (e.g. smaller HDB flats) → toward the higher end (~$600)
- Higher-AV home → the lower end of the range
The precise cut-offs can be adjusted, so check the official SupportGoWhere / Budget 2026 benefits calculator for the exact figure tied to your details — don't rely on word-of-mouth amounts.
How to make sure you receive it
- Link your bank account to PayNow using your NRIC — fastest, most direct crediting
- No forms to fill — eligibility is assessed automatically
- If PayNow-NRIC isn't set up, the payout goes to a registered bank account or via GovCash
Watch out for scams
The Government will never ask you to pay a fee, click a link to "claim", or share your Singpass password or OTP to receive this payment. Only trust gov.sg and SupportGoWhere (life.gov.sg).
