Taxi fares at Singapore's two biggest cab fleets stay slightly higher until the end of November. ComfortDelGro and Strides Premier each said on 22 September 2026 that the temporary increase to their metered fares, brought in during March to help drivers cope with rising fuel costs, will now run until 30 November 2026. It was due to end on 30 September.

ComfortDelGro's higher rate covers its Ioniq, Prius, Sienta, Kona, Noah and E6 taxis at S$0.27, and its Alphard, Vellfire, Lexus and MaxiCab limousines at S$0.39. Strides Premier's covers its Prius, Corolla, Niro Plus, i30(A), Ioniq and MG5 fleet.
ComfortDelGro's Driver Fee on flat fares
On top of the meter change, ComfortDelGro's Driver Fee on flat-fare trips is also extended to 30 November 2026:

It applies to trips booked through Zig by ComfortDelGro, PayLah!, Kris+, HeyCars and CMAC, all cross-border trips, limousine car services booked through the call centre (Guarantee Arrival, Guarantee Departure and one-way transfers) and hourly trips. No GST is charged on it.
What it costs you
The extra cent is charged on every unit, so it adds up with distance. On a 10km metered ride it comes to roughly 23 cents more; on a 20km ride, roughly 52 cents, plus 1 cent for every 45 seconds stuck in traffic. The usual peak-hour, late-night, CBD and airport surcharges are unchanged and sit on top.
The fine print
- This is the third extension. The adjustment began on 24 March 2026 at ComfortDelGro and 30 March at Strides Premier, and was first meant to end on 31 May, then 31 July, then 30 September.
- The fares page lags. ComfortDelGro's website fare table still shows the old end date, so go by the 22 September announcement.
- The money goes to drivers. ComfortDelGro says the full amount goes directly to drivers to help with fuel costs, and Strides Premier says the same of its adjustment.
- Card payments still add 10%. Paying a ComfortDelGro metered fare by credit or charge card, Apple Pay or Google Pay adds a 10% administrative charge plus GST, which on a S$20 fare is far more than this surcharge.
- Only these two operators announced an extension. Check the fare in your own app or on the meter if you use another fleet.
What it means for you
For most short rides the change is a few cents, but it will not go away before December. If you take taxis often, the bigger savings are in how you pay and how you book: compare the booking and platform fees across apps before a long trip, and avoid the card surcharge on metered fares where you can. Drivers get a small cushion against pump prices that have climbed through September.
