How to choose a stand mixer

  • Size the bowl to your batches. A 3.6L-4L bowl handles one cake or a tray of cookies. 4.8L-5L (KitchenAid Artisan, Smeg, kMix) covers most home baking. Go to 5.5L and above (Bosch Series 6, Kenwood Chef XL, KitchenAid bowl-lift) if you bake bread weekly or double recipes.
  • Watts are not everything, but they matter for dough. Light batters and meringue are fine on 300W. Heavy bread and bun dough is where 1,000W-1,600W machines earn their price, and Bosch prints a 3.5kg dough limit for its Series 6.
  • Think about attachments before you buy. KitchenAid and Kenwood's Chef range have the widest attachment systems. That is why Kenwood's two-free-attachments offer is worth more than it looks if you want a mincer or pasta roller later.
  • Compare the retailer against the brand. On the same day, the Kenwood kMix was $699 on Kenwood's store and $599 at Harvey Norman. Check both before checkout, and remember Harvey Norman's free delivery needs a $200 spend.
  • Watch the dates. Bosch's $1,249 price ends on 31 October. 11.11 falls on Wednesday 11 November, so a brand that is quiet now may run a sale then.

The 5.5 Quart bowl-lift is $1,259 and the 7 Quart bowl-lift is $1,579. No stand mixer was on sale; the KitchenAid Sale page only discounted cordless tools and a blender.

What is the cheapest stand mixer in Singapore?

The cheapest we found from a major brand was the Electrolux UltimateTaste 300 (E3SM1-100B), a 3.6L, 300W mixer at $89 at Harvey Norman (usual $109) on 29 October 2026. Harvey Norman also sells a Cornell CSM515BK at $109. Both suit light baking; for regular bread dough, look at 1,000W and above.

Is the Kenwood kMix cheaper at Harvey Norman than on Kenwood's website?

Yes, on 29 October 2026. Kenwood's Singapore store listed the kMix (KMX751) at $699, while Harvey Norman sold the same model at $599 in white, red and cream. Kenwood's own store does have one perk Harvey Norman does not: 2 free attachments with the Chef XL or Titanium Chef Baker XL, online only, while stocks last.

Which stand mixer is best for bread dough?

Pick a bigger bowl and a stronger motor. The Bosch Series 6 (1,600W, 5.5L, up to 3.5kg of dough, with a built-in scale) is $1,249 on Bosch's store until 31 October 2026, down from $1,699.
