A decent microwave in Singapore costs less than a week of hawker lunches, but the same model can differ by S$80 between shops.

Panasonic has the widest and most dependable range in Harvey Norman's microwave aisle, and its inverter models heat more evenly than the usual on/off magnetron. The 20L NN-ST22Q solo is S$119 (was S$149), the 25L NN-ST34NB S$169 and the 24L NN-GT35NB grill S$179. The pick for most homes is the 32L NN-ST65Q inverter at S$239: big enough for a family plate and still a plain microwave. The new 27L NN-CD58 is a 4-in-1 (air fry, bake, grill, reheat) with a top fan and 18 auto programmes, S$429 at Harvey Norman and S$449 on Panasonic's own store. For steam, the 27L NN-DS59NB grill steam oven is S$549 (was S$673) and the 31L NN-CS89LB Pure Steam convection model S$1,029 (was S$1,223). Sharp sells direct on sharp.com.sg, and its Mid Autumn Sale prices match or beat Harvey Norman on every model. The 27L R-27C-B does microwave, convection, grill and air fry for S$289 (was S$307), the lowest price we found for a microwave that air fries. The dedicated 26L R-26CAF-B Air Fry Microwave is S$369 (was S$393). If you only reheat, the 20L R-20SA-B dial model is S$95 (S$100 at Harvey Norman), the 20L R-20SD-B digital S$109 (S$120 at Harvey Norman) and the 25L R-25SD-B S$159. The 25L R-72E0(SM) grill model is S$149, down from S$193. For a bigger family, the 34L R-34SI-W inverter is S$199 (was S$235; S$221 at Harvey Norman). The 26L R-26SIF-BS flatbed inverter, which has no turntable, is out of stock on Sharp's store but S$199 at Harvey Norman. Sharp's store delivers islandwide.

Toshiba's home appliances in Singapore are now run by Midea, and Harvey Norman carries eleven of its microwaves with some of the biggest markdowns in the category. The 30L ML2-EM30PE solo is S$189 (was S$299) and the 30L ML2-EG30PE inverter with grill S$229 (was S$339), both cheap for their size. The 25L MW3-EM25PE inverter is S$159 and the 20L MW3-MM20PE S$109. For baking and roasting, the 24L MW3-SAC24SE convection model is S$309 (was S$379) and the 34L ML3-SEC34SF S$379 (was S$459); the 26L MW-TC26TF, which adds air fry and low-temperature cooking, is S$299 (was S$399). At the top, the 25L MX2-STR25SF steam microwave is S$849 (was S$1,199) and the 30L ER-TD5000SG superheated steam oven, which crisps and roasts with steam instead of oil, S$1,119 (was S$1,399). LG's NeoChef range uses a Smart Inverter for steady, even heat. The one to look at is the 25L NeoChef Objet MS2535GIK in beige, S$229 on lg.com/sg and at Harvey Norman: it is the only microwave in this guide designed to sit on an open counter as décor. The 20L MS2032GAS is S$149 and the 30L MS3032JAS S$179 on LG's store. Buy the 25L MS2595DIS Smart Inverter at Harvey Norman, where it is S$215 against S$250 on lg.com/sg. The 25L MH6565DIS with grill is S$261 at both. LG's 39L MJ3965BGS convection model is S$749 but listed as pre-order on LG's own store. LG's September Home Fair (to 30 September) does not cover microwaves, so there is no extra LG discount on these.

Midea sells direct on midea.com/sg, and its 20L MMO-MM920MZ solo (700W, 5 power levels) at S$79 is the lowest brand-store price in this guide. The MMO-AM920MZ is S$89 there and at Harvey Norman. The 30L MMO-EG930MX grill is S$179 (was S$279 at Harvey Norman), and the 26L MMO25PFA flatbed model, which has no turntable and connects to the Midea app over Wi-Fi, is S$219. Midea's showpiece is the 25L MMO25XHA, a 5-in-1 that combines a 1,000W inverter microwave with air fry, steam, bake and grill and 52 auto menus: S$599 on both midea.com/sg and Harvey Norman, down from S$999. Mayer, the Singapore home-appliance brand, shows the biggest gap between retailer and brand store in this guide. Its 20L MMMW3201D digital microwave (10 power levels, 6 preset menus, child lock, one-touch express cooking) is S$119 on mayer.sg but S$199 at Harvey Norman. The 20L MMMW3020 analog dial model is S$99 (was S$179). If you are renovating, Mayer's 25L built-in microwaves with grill are S$626 (MMWG25B, was S$1,199) and S$759 (MMWG30B in rose gold, was S$1,399). Hitachi sells one microwave in Singapore, and it is a good buy right now. The 27L HMR-DA2713 combines microwave, air fry, grill, bake and combination cooking, with 33 auto programmes (including 10 air fry menus) and hot-air circulation for crisp results. It also has a one-touch steam clean and a deodoriser that runs with the microwave off. Harvey Norman has it at S$329, down from S$499, which puts it between Sharp's S$289 R-27C-B and Panasonic's S$429 NN-CD58. Hitachi's own online store does not sell microwaves, so buy it through Harvey Norman or other Hitachi dealers.

We read every price on 27 September 2026 from Harvey Norman's full countertop and built-in microwave range (138 listings) and from the brand stores of Sharp, LG, Midea, Mayer and Panasonic. Toshiba and Hitachi do not sell microwaves online here, so their prices are Harvey Norman's. Samsung is left out because its Singapore store did not show microwave prices when we checked. None of the sale prices above prints an end date, and appliance prices here move within days, so check the link before you pay.
Panasonic is the safest all-round choice: it has the widest range at Harvey Norman, from the 20L NN-ST22Q at S$119 to the 32L NN-ST65Q inverter at S$239 and the NN-CD58 air fry combi at S$429 (prices read 27 September 2026). Sharp is the best value if you want air fry (R-27C-B, S$289), Toshiba leads on steam, and LG's NeoChef Objet (S$229) is the best-looking.
20L is enough for one or two people; 25L-30L is the practical family size and fits a 30cm plate. A 25L inverter costs about S$159-S$250, for example Toshiba's MW3-EM25PE (S$159) or LG's MS2595DIS (S$215 at Harvey Norman). Only go above 32L if you often reheat large platters, and measure your counter first, leaving ventilation space at the sides and top.
If your counter is short on space, yes. A combi replaces two appliances: Sharp's R-27C-B (S$289 on sharp.com.sg), Hitachi's HMR-DA2713 (S$329 at Harvey Norman, was S$499) and Panasonic's NN-CD58 (S$429) all air fry, grill and bake. A basket air fryer is still faster for small portions, so if you have room for both, a plain inverter microwave plus a separate air fryer often costs about the same.
