11 Best Prata in Singapore (2026): Roti Prata Hours, Halal Status and the 3 Genuinely 24-Hour Shops

Singapore's most-acclaimed prata, full stop. Mr Mohgan flips paper-thin canvases over molten griddles inside the Tin Yeang Restaurant coffee shop at 300 Joo Chiat Road. Note that the stall left its old Crane Road address years ago, so ignore any listing that still sends you there. Plain (kosong) prata is around S$1.50 and egg about S$2.00. The texture comes from laminated layers of real ghee plus technique honed over 40+ years: the inside is fluffy, the outside is shatter-crispy with caramelised edges. Mutton and chicken curry both excellent. The catch: 6.30am to 1.30pm and closed Wednesdays. The older 11.30am Tuesday closing no longer applies, and Tuesday now runs to 1.30pm like every other day. It stops the moment the dough runs out, so get there before 10am on a weekend. Cash only. Muslim-run but not on the MUIS halal register. Worth the trip from anywhere on the island.

The Upper Thomson late-night institution and the default supper prata for half the island, but the hours have changed, and this is where every other guide is now out of date. It is no longer 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays: its current listing runs 7am to 2am Sunday through Thursday and 7am to 4am on Friday and Saturday. Plain prata around S$1.50, solid, consistent, fluffy-not-too-crispy style. The real draw is the extensive stuffed-prata menu: cheese, egg and cheese, banana and chocolate, mushroom and cheese, even durian. Curry comes in mutton, chicken, dhal, and fish, all generous. The 2am to 4am Friday and Saturday post-club crowd is intense, so come 8am to 10am or 3pm to 5pm for the calm version. On halal: it serves no pork or alcohol and is Indian-Muslim run, but it does not appear on the MUIS register, and we searched by name, by postal code 574370 and by Upper Thomson Road again on 17 September 2026. The most adventurous prata menu in Singapore, and a Michelin Guide listing for the original shop. Springleaf earned cult status with its signature Plaster Blaster, an eggs-Benedict-inspired prata topped with turkey ham, a poached egg and hollandaise at around S$7, alongside the Murtaburger, its murtabak-meets-a-burger, both part of a numbered Ultimate Series. Plain prata sits near S$2 and is equally credible. The original is Springleaf Garden at 1 Thong Soon Avenue (off Upper Thomson, not Sembawang town). Its own outlet page lists nine, but there are twelve open: add Tang Plaza on Orchard Road (310 Orchard Rd #B1-05, inside the Hawkers' Street hall, listed at 8.30am to 9.30pm and the only Orchard Road option on this list), The Venue Shoppes at Potong Pasir (2 Tai Thong Crescent #01-13) and E!Hub at Downtown East (1 Pasir Ris Close #01-340). All three appear on the MUIS register under Springleaf's certification, which is how we confirmed them; the HarbourFront Centre outlet is permanently closed. Most of the rest run 8am to 10pm or 11pm, JUNCTION10 closes earliest at 9pm, and the NEWest outlet at 1 West Coast Drive is the only 24-hour one. The signature is the crispy coin prata, small crisp discs served as a Coin Prata Set at about S$4.50; the standard plain and egg pratas are among the cheaper ones on this list. Style is fluffier and more buttery than shatter-crisp. The fish curry is the standout, with generous chunks, a mid spice level and free refills. More than just a prata stall. Casuarina is a full Indian restaurant where prata is one of many strong dishes, family-run by the Subramaniam siblings and a fixture on this stretch since the 1950s. It has the widest prata list of anywhere here: 35-plus variations running from plain and egg through banana, chocolate, cheese and durian. The dosai, biryani and mutton curry are equally credited as the prata. Vibrant, full-service environment with table service (rare for prata) and aircon at the indoor section. Hours to get right: 7am to 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 7am to 11.30pm on Friday and Saturday. It is often listed as 24-hour, and as closing at midnight, and it is neither. One of only three names on this list that is genuinely MUIS halal-certified: 138 Casuarina Road is on the register, and its 187 MacPherson Road premises is separately certified as a restaurant and caterer. It also runs a prata-making workshop with its own chefs, listed at S$35 (S$38.15 for the in-house version). Strong for breakfast meetings or family dinners where one person doesn't want only prata.

The cheese-prata specialist and, now that The Roti Prata House has dropped its Friday and Saturday 24 hours, one of only three round-the-clock options left on this list. Worth knowing it sits at 16 Clementi Road on the Pasir Panjang and Kent Ridge stretch near NUS, not in Bukit Timah, which several guides get wrong. Generations of NUS students know it simply as 'NUS prata'. The draw is the Niqqi's Special Cheese Prata at around S$5, with potato, egg and cheese, generously spread and finished golden-crisp, while plain and egg pratas stay at the cheap end. Their mee goreng and maggi goreng are the standard sides, and the prata is noticeably less oily than most. Open around the clock, seven days, so it works for a 4am craving as well as a pre-lecture breakfast. Al-Ameen moved in two doors away at 14 Clementi Road in March 2026, so this stretch now has two of the eleven on one pavement. Al-Ameen has left 4 Cheong Chin Nam Road: a notice from the owner dated 8 March 2026 says it has moved to 14 Clementi Road, Singapore 129743, where it trades as Ameen Makan House / Al-Ameen @ Clementi, two doors from Niqqi's, near NUS, not near Beauty World MRT. Its own site lists 11am to 2am daily (its Google listing shows 10am to 3am), so it is no longer the 8am-to-4am address it used to be. The prata style is the middle ground: not as crispy as Mr & Mrs Mohgan's, not as fluffy as Sin Ming, but consistent and reliable. What makes it worth the trip is the sheer breadth, roughly 320 dishes spanning Indian, Malay and Western, with the stuffed cheese naan at about S$4.50 a standout, so it is the pick when the group can't agree on just prata. The answer to 'where do I get prata near Beauty World', and the reason this list needed an eleventh entry. When Al-Ameen left Cheong Chin Nam Road in March 2026, the street's other round-the-clock Indian-Muslim restaurant stayed put. Al-Azhar occupies 11 and 12 Cheong Chin Nam Road, a short walk across Upper Bukit Timah Road from Beauty World MRT, and it is one of only three names here that is genuinely MUIS halal-certified: the official register lists it as an Eating Establishment at 11 & 12 Cheong Chin Nam Road, postal 599736, checked on 17 September 2026. Its own site says its restaurants are open around the clock, which makes it the third genuine 24-hour option here after Niqqi's and Springleaf NEWest, though some third-party listings show 7am to 3am for this outlet, so call 6466 5052 before a 4am trip. Prata anchors a very large menu that also runs Thai-Muslim, Malay, north Indian and Western: its delivery menu prices plain prata at S$2.10 and egg at S$3.20, so counter prices sit a little below that, and the Prata Boom and the Prata Sarang Burong are the stuffed picks. Certification is per premises, so note that Al-Azhar's Tampines (201D Tampines Street 21) and Geylang Serai (970 Geylang Road) outlets are not on the register, only this one. Card, cash and PayNow. Jaggi's has run its Race Course Road flagship in Little India since September 1995. Both of its addresses changed in 2026, so ignore every older listing. Its own contact page, updated on 5 September 2026, now puts the flagship at 72 Race Course Road, Singapore 218573, on the same street as the old 36 Race Course Road and with the same 6296 6141 phone line, and a Google Maps visitor update flagged the new address about three months ago. The second branch has left 195C Serangoon Road for 2 Mistri Road #01-01 (Singapore 079624) in Tanjong Pagar, open 11am to 10pm, which makes it the CBD option on this list. The flagship still runs 11am to 10.30pm daily. Expect to pay more than a heartland stall, because this is a restaurant paratha made on a North Indian recipe with ghee and butter, ordered as part of a meal rather than on its own. Pair it with the dal makhani, butter chicken or a paneer dish for a genuinely different experience from the curry-fish-mutton South Indian-Muslim norm. Indoor aircon, full table service. Card and cash. Unlike the rest of this list, Jaggi's serves alcohol and is not halal-certified. Its live site is jaggis.com.sg, and the old jaggis.com is a parked page, so ignore that one.

A multi-outlet chain with a genuinely useful spread across the island, but it is four outlets now, not five. Tissue prata, the giant cone version, is the kid-attractor, and the murtabak is a generous mutton-and-egg plate. Hours vary by branch, so check the specific outlet before a late run. The everyday-habit pick, and the reason it earns a place: a plain prata runs about S$1.60 with a two-piece minimum order, and it comes with sambal alongside the usual curry, which is unusual and genuinely improves it. It is now a single shop, not the two-shop operation earlier guides describe, and certainly not the big chain the oldest ones claim. The Ghim Moh unit at Block 21 Ghim Moh Road is now occupied by a different operator, AlHanif Restaurants, so Jurong East (303 Jurong East Street 32 #01-96) is the only address. There is no Eunos, Tampines, Yishun or Hougang branch. The style is crisp-edged and lighter than the price suggests, with thosai, murtabak, biryani and chapati set meals rounding out the menu. It is not 24-hour: the current listing is 7am to 8pm daily, and a visitor logged an unannounced closure in July 2026, so call before making the trip.
