Takagi Ramen — the chain that dragged Singapore's entry-level ramen price down to about $7 a bowl — is running buy-1-get-1-free on its two SG61 crab bowls: the Chilli Crab Ramen and the Salted Egg Crab Ramen, $16.50 nett for the pair.

> Quick view: 1-for-1 Chilli Crab Ramen / Salted Egg Crab Ramen (mix & match) · $16.50 nett for two bowls, ~$8.25 each · all 13 outlets + order.takagiramen.com + delivery apps · live since 17 Jul · no official end date — while stocks last, food media say mid-Aug.

The two bowls

Both sit on Takagi's house base — hakata noodles and a tonkotsu broth boiled over 12 hours — with a National Day sauce poured over it and a whole soft-shell crab on top.

  • Chilli Crab Ramen — the sweet-spicy chilli crab gravy, thick enough to coat the noodles rather than sit under them.
  • Salted Egg Crab Ramen — the creamier of the two, salted-egg sauce with the same crab and a soft-boiled ajitama.

Mix and match is allowed, so two people should order one of each rather than doubling up on one.

What $16.50 nett actually means

The word doing the work here is nett. You pay $16.50 and that is the bill — no 9% GST, no 10% service charge stacked on afterwards. Against a $16.50++ menu price that's about $3.10 you don't pay, which is a bigger deal than it sounds on a promo this cheap.

Split two ways it's $8.25 a head, roughly what a standard Takagi bowl costs anyway. Go alone and the same deal is a $16.50 bowl at a chain whose normal range is $7–13 — this one only works if you bring someone.

The fine print

  1. No published end date. Takagi's poster and its own Facebook announcement don't print one; the brand only says the National Day celebration has started early. Media coverage estimates mid-August. Go before the 9–10 August long weekend.
  2. While stocks last — the crab bowls are a limited National Day run, and outlets can run out of soft-shell crab before the campaign formally closes.
  3. Delivery apps add their own markup — the $16.50 nett figure is an in-store/direct-order number. Ordering through a platform usually costs more all-in.
  4. All 13 outlets take part, plus order.takagiramen.com.

The 3am angle

Nine of the thirteen outlets are open 24 hoursAng Mo Kio, Yishun, Woodlands, Hougang Rivercourt, Jurong West, Simei, Redhill, Yew Tee and Bedok Central. That makes this one of very few 1-for-1s in Singapore you can redeem after midnight, and it's the practical way to dodge the dinner queue.

The other four run mall hours: One-North (10am–9pm), and Pasir Ris @ Downtown East, Dhoby Ghaut and Anchorvale Village (about 11am–10pm).
