The Story of Studio Ghibli, an immersive walk-through exhibition with 12 life-sized recreated worlds from films like *Spirited Away*, *My Neighbor Totoro* and *Kiki's Delivery Service*, is coming to Gardens by the Bay from 18 December 2026 to 4 July 2027. Tickets are already on sale on Klook, and Singapore Citizens and PRs pay S$39 for an adult ticket instead of the standard S$49 to S$55. Every adult ticket bought by 17 December 2026 comes with a limited-edition gift while stocks last.

What's inside
The organisers, TSUKURU, INC. and M Experience, say the Singapore edition covers nearly 3,500 square metres, making it the largest version of The Story of Studio Ghibli so far, and it is supported by the Singapore Tourism Board. The 12 recreated worlds draw on *Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind*, *My Neighbor Totoro*, *Kiki's Delivery Service*, *Princess Mononoke*, *Spirited Away*, *Howl's Moving Castle* and *The Boy and the Heron*, among others.
Highlights named so far:
- An eight-metre-tall 3D recreation of the Spirited Away bathhouse, billed as a world first, with Kamaji's animatronic boiler room inside
- Totoro waiting at the rainy bus stop for the Catbus
- The Ohmu from *Nausicaä*
- The wooden door of the Guchokipanya bakery from *Kiki's Delivery Service*, which starts your own "delivery journey"
- The forest of *Princess Mononoke*, built with large sets and projections
Educational programmes on creativity and environmental themes are being developed, with details to come closer to opening.

For a local family of two adults and two children, that works out to S$136, against S$184 at the standard off-peak rate and S$208 at peak. The local rate saves an adult S$10 to S$16 and a child S$14 to S$20 per ticket. The announcement does not say which days count as peak, so check the date picker on Klook before you pay.
The early-bird gift
Each adult ticket bought between 12 September and 17 December 2026 includes an exclusive limited-edition gift, while stocks last. The organisers have not said what the gift is. Concession tickets are not mentioned, so a family wanting one gift per head should not count on it. On Klook you can also add a No Face Fortune Coin Bundle, a paid souvenir add-on.
Fine print
- 18 December is not open to the public. Klook's listing says the opening day is reserved for the VIP opening ceremony, and public admission starts on 19 December 2026.
- Klook is the only official ticketing partner. Be wary of resale listings or "cheaper" tickets elsewhere.
- Hours: 10am to 7pm daily at the West Lawn, 18 Marina Gardens Drive. This is separate from the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest, which need their own tickets.
- Keep proof of residency handy if you buy the SC/PR rate, in case it is checked at entry.

What it means for you
If you are a Singapore Citizen or PR, there is no reason to pay the standard rate, and buying adult tickets before 17 December adds the gift on top. The December school holidays and Christmas week are likely to be the busiest stretch, so families with flexibility may find January to March calmer. The run lasts more than six months, so you do not need to rush for opening weekend.
