Four and a half years after it walked out of Singapore overnight, Mom's Touch is coming back — and the interesting part isn't the chicken burger. It's who is bringing it in.
> Quick view: Mom's Touch & Company announced on 29 July 2026 a master franchise agreement with FairPrice Group. First outlet opens 14 August 2026 on South Bridge Road in the CBD. Three outlets by end-2026, 25+ over 10 years. Menu, prices and opening promos: not announced yet.
What was announced
Mom's Touch & Company — the operator of Korea's largest burger chain by store count, with roughly 1,460 outlets at home — has signed a master franchise agreement with FairPrice Group to run the brand in Singapore.
The split of responsibilities is the standard master-franchise shape, and it's spelled out in the announcement:
- Mom's Touch provides the brand operating rights, the menu, and store-operations know-how
- FairPrice Group handles store development, day-to-day operations and local marketing
That second half is what makes this different from the last attempt. FairPrice Group already runs around 80 dining venues in Singapore — food courts, hawker centres and cafés under the Kopitiam and Foodfare umbrella — which is a rather more solid base to launch a QSR chain from than a single licensee.
The rollout
| Detail | What we know |
|---|---|
| First outlet opens | 14 August 2026 |
| Where | South Bridge Road, CBD (Chinatown fringe) |
| By end-2026 | 3 outlets, next two targeting large malls in prime retail areas |
| Over 10 years | More than 25 outlets |
| Operator | FairPrice Group (master franchisee) |
| Menu & prices | Not announced |
On the location: the company's announcement names South Bridge Road. The brand's own launch photograph shows the "Coming Soon" hoarding already up inside Cross Street Exchange — recently rebranded 18 Cross — the complex whose address runs across 18 Cross Street and 181 South Bridge Road. Treat the exact unit as unconfirmed until the brand posts it.
On halal — read this bit carefully
Mom's Touch has flagged halal as central to its Southeast Asia push, and the Singapore deal is part of that. What it actually has today is KMF (Korea Muslim Federation) certification in Korea, with MUIS cross-recognition for Singapore still being worked through — plus JAKIM (Malaysia) and MUI (Indonesia) applications in the pipeline.
> Until MUIS certification for the Singapore outlet is announced and the certificate is on the wall, do not assume the store is halal-certified here. Overseas certification is not Singapore certification.
We'll update this article when MUIS status is confirmed either way.
What the brand is known for
The Singapore menu hasn't been released, so this is what Mom's Touch sells in Korea rather than a promise of what opens here. Its signature is the Thigh Burger (싸이버거) — a fried-chicken burger built on a whole boneless chicken thigh rather than a formed patty, fried to order — alongside crispy fried chicken and pizzas. The chain leans hard on price-to-portion value, which is roughly the pitch on the Singapore hoarding too: *"Korea's No.1 chicken & burger brand."*
Why it closed the first time
The previous Singapore run wasn't the same operation. It was licensed to a subsidiary of No Signboard Holdings, and all three outlets — Paya Lebar Quarter, The Centrepoint and Eastwood Centre in Bedok — closed abruptly on 10 February 2022 as the operator ran into financial trouble. None of that carries over to the FairPrice Group agreement, but it's the reason the brand name may ring a bell.
What it means for you
If you eat in the CBD: there's a new Korean fried-chicken-and-burger option on South Bridge Road from 14 August, in a lunch belt that is already crowded — which usually means an opening-week promotion. None has been announced yet; we'll add it here if one lands.
If you're outside town: the next two outlets are aimed at large malls in prime retail areas before the end of 2026, so heartland access is likely a 2027 conversation. And with FairPrice Group's food-court and hawker-centre network in the mix, the company has flagged those formats as a possible longer-term route — worth watching, but nothing is confirmed.
