IKEA Singapore is bringing back the dessert that looks like its most famous main course. From Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September 2026, the Swedish Bistro sells Swedish Meatball Ice Cream again, and IKEA's own bistro page files it under a heading that reads "Missed it the first time?"

What you get
A paper cup of five scoops shaped and coloured like IKEA's Swedish meatballs. The savoury cream sauce is replaced by caramel sauce, and the lingonberry jam from the real plate stays exactly where it was. IKEA describes it as a "surprisingly sweet take on a beloved classic", which is fair: the joke is in how it looks, and the jam is the only part that tastes like the original.
The price in context
$4.90 for five pieces is 98 cents each. For comparison, from IKEA's own current menus:

So it is ten soft-serve cones' worth of money, and it is not a bargain dessert in IKEA terms. What you are paying for is the novelty, and a hot dog plus the ice cream still comes to $5.90, which is hard to beat as a weekend snack for two.
Where and when to go
IKEA's page says "Swedish Bistro" and names no store, so all three are covered. The bistro opening hours IKEA lists for the three days:

Skip the Tampines Level 1 bistro for this one. It runs a separate halal menu, and its dessert list currently shows only a $1.50 blueberry and banana twist ice cream cup. IKEA has not said whether the meatball ice cream itself is halal, so do not assume it is.
Jurong is the easiest early start. It opens at 10am every day, including Friday, and sits inside JEM, directly connected to Jurong East MRT.
Fine print worth knowing
- Three days only: Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September 2026.
- Swedish Bistro only. The sit-down Swedish Restaurant does not sell it.
- While stocks last. IKEA publishes no daily quantity, so the later you go, especially at the weekend, the likelier it is to be gone.
- Regular menu, not a member price. It is listed on the bistro menu, not under IKEA Family food offers, so everyone pays $4.90.
- It came back once already. IKEA calls this run "back on demand" after the first one, but it has promised nothing beyond 20 September.
Tips
- Go on Friday if you can. Stock pressure is lowest on the first day and on a weekday.
- Call before a long trip. IKEA's customer service line is 6786 6868, and stock can differ from one bistro to the next.
- Eat it at the bistro. It is soft ice cream and sauce in a paper cup, and it will not survive the MRT home.
- Pair it with the cheap stuff. The $1 hot dog or the $2.50 hot dog and cold drink combo keep the whole snack under $8.
