What it costs
The brand's current menu lists the Classic Fish & Chips as house-battered dory with golden fries, fresh salad and garlic butter sauce at $15.90. Prices carry a 10% service charge and 9% GST, so one plate is about $19.06 at the till.
With the 1-for-1, two Classic plates cost about $19.06 instead of about $38.12. That works out to roughly $9.53 a plate, less than the brand's weekday set lunch, which starts at $8.90++ (about $10.67 with charges).
If you build your own plate with a different fish, the menu prices are seabass $17.90, salmon $19.90, halibut $20.90 and haddock $21.90. The free plate stays the Classic, so ask the counter whether a pricier first plate qualifies before you pay.

The fine print
- Members only. Register before you go, and have the QR code on your phone. The post says to show it before ordering, so do not wait until you pay.
- Dine-in only. Takeaway and delivery orders do not get the free plate. (Takeaway has its own standing 20% off, which is a separate deal.)
- The free plate is the Classic. It is the dory version; the poster and post do not promise a free halibut or haddock.
- Three days only. The deal ends Wednesday 14 October, and last orders are at 9pm.
- Stacking is not stated. The brand has not said whether the 1-for-1 combines with its other promotions, so treat it as a standalone deal.
Tips
- Go on Wednesday for oysters. Big Fish Small Fish's standing $1 Japanese oysters with every main course run every Wednesday, and Wed 14 Oct is the last day of the 1-for-1. Ask whether both apply to your table.
- Dine-in comes with free-flow crisps and sauces, so two Classic plates make a full meal for two.
- Avoid the lunch crush. Suntec City and Bugis Junction fill up with office crowds from noon; mid-afternoon is quieter.
- The sock deal also runs. Until 18 October, Dory Fish & Chips with a canned drink is $15.90 and a pair of limited-edition BFSF socks is $3 more (usually $8.90), while stocks last.
