The cheap two-progressive-pairs route has closed. Lenskart's 2-glasses-for-$100 deal, which used to include basic 1.56 normal-corridor progressive lenses at no extra charge, is no longer published anywhere on its Singapore site. A progressive lens only works if the corridor is measured to your frame and your eyes, so if you have a strong or unusual prescription, a specialist like W Optics (appointment-based, six designated Myopia Centres) or Capitol Optical is worth the extra over a walk-in chain. Ask which generation and corridor width you are being quoted for, and expect progressives to take longer than same-day, a day to about a week versus the roughly 20 minutes a single-vision pair takes.

In practice one of them is a few minutes from wherever you are. Some specific searches come up often and have surprising answers. There is no Lenskart at Jem, ION Orchard, Great World, Marina Square or Takashimaya; its closest equivalents are Westgate and IMM for Jurong East, Plaza Singapura for Orchard, Suntec City for the Marina area, and Hillion Mall for Bukit Panjang. There is no Spectacle Hut at Causeway Point either, though OWNDAYS, Lenskart, W Optics and Better Vision all have one there. What its site does say is that its VisionCAREPlus+ examination takes 30 to 45 minutes, needs no referral, and is carried out by its own eye care professionals, who walk you through each check and recommend lenses, frames or contact lenses at the end. Walk-ins may be possible but booking in advance is recommended, and you can book through the Spectacle Hut website. Its published aftercare is generous even after you leave: complimentary cleaning, adjustments and eye-check reminders all year, and complimentary eye checks extended to your family and friends. If you have IHP or corporate eye-care coverage, claims are processed in-store rather than sent away, which is worth asking about when you book. Most of the other chains here are clearer on price: Lenskart offers a free eye test at any store whether or not you buy, Zoff includes a free eye test plus free adjustments with every purchase, and OWNDAYS lets you book a free eye test online. If you want a detailed clinical work-up rather than a standard refraction, for contact-lens fitting, Ortho-K or myopia control, that is typically a separate paid service anywhere, so ask what is included and what it costs when you book.
It now comes down to whether you want progressives, and whether you mind using a coupon. OWNDAYS wins on progressives and on speed. Enhanced Progressive Lenses are free with any spectacle purchase, an upgrade it otherwise prices at $100, so a complete pair of varifocals starts at $98; and most pairs are made in-store in about 20 minutes, so you walk out the same visit. Its 50% second-pair offer applies to same-day purchases in one transaction and its own terms allow the two pairs to be for different wearers, which helps if you are going with family, though it excludes sale items, sunglasses and all lens upgrades. Lenskart wins on the headline price for a plain single-vision pair: code BUY1 takes a flat 40% off, putting an Essentials frame with lenses at $60, about $120 for two, which still undercuts anything OWNDAYS offers. Its $9 frames are frame only, so lenses are extra on those. Its free eye test is available at any of 30 stores whether or not you buy, returns run 14 days, and there is a $60 trade-in voucher. Two things to weigh. Lenskart's old 2-for-$100 deal is gone, so ignore any roundup still quoting it, and its Buy 1 Get 1 now sits behind the paid Gold Max membership.
