Singapore now has more chain coffee than ever: luckin passed 100 stores last week, Starbucks runs 128, and Malaysian and Indonesian brands keep arriving. We checked ten chains' own apps, menus, store lists and the MUIS halal register on 3 October 2026 to find what a cup really costs, who is halal, and which deal is worth downloading the app for.
Your daily latte can cost $1.73 or $9, depending only on which app you open.
> Quick view: best value is luckin ($0.99 first drink, 100 stores); cheapest kopi is Toast Box's package at $1.73 a cup to 31 Oct; most chain lattes run $4.40-$7.60, and only Kenangan, Coffee Bean, Tim Hortons and ZUS are halal-certified.
How we picked and checked
We ranked chains on what a regular coffee drinker in Singapore cares about: price per cup after the app deals, how many outlets are near you, whether it is halal, and how good the coffee is. On 3 October 2026 we read each chain's own app or menu, its store locator or official outlet list, its latest Instagram posts and, for halal status, the MUIS register itself rather than a blog. Promotions that ended before 3 October (luckin's $2.99 cups, Kenangan's payday Buy 1 Free 1, Starbucks' Venti 1-for-1) are left out.
How to pay less for chain coffee
- Download the app before your first order. luckin ($0.99), Starbucks (50% off), ZUS and Kenangan (Buy 1 Free 1) all save their best deal for a first app order, so a new app is worth one cheap cup at each.
- Buy kopi in bulk if you drink it daily. Toast Box's 80-cup package works out to $1.73 a cup, but the vouchers expire after five months, so it only pays if you drink about four small hot kopi a week.
- Watch the end of the month. luckin, Kenangan and TOMORO have each run a payday 1-for-1 near month-end; they are announced in the app a day or two before.
- Check your PAssion Card. It takes 10% off at ZUS (code ZS26PASSIONC10) and TOMORO for another year or more.
- Halal matters? Stick to four. Kenangan, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Tim Hortons and ZUS are certified. Starbucks, luckin, Toast Box, Cotti, TOMORO and % Arabica are not.
