The two packages
| 40-cup package | 80-cup package | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $72 | $138 |
| Usual price (Toast Box's own U.P.) | $88 | $176 |
| Per cup | $1.80 | $1.73 |
| Extras | Free upsize (small to large) on 5 of the cups, worth from $7 | Free Soft French Breadsticks + medium hot drink set (worth from $5.30), 2 free curry puffs with a full-priced Asian Delight set (worth from $3.20) |
| Kopi vouchers valid | 4 months from issue | 5 months from issue |
| Extras valid | 1 month | 1 month |
| Toast Box's "worth" | From $95 | From $184.50 |
Toast Box's banner prices both packages at $2.20 a cup before the discount, so you save $16 on the 40-cup package and $38 on the 80-cup one before counting the extras. With the extras, Toast Box puts the savings at up to $46.50.
Is it worth it?
The maths only works if you drink the cups before they expire.
- 80 cups: you break even at 63 cups. Five months is about 22 weeks, so all 80 cups means roughly 4 kopi a week, close to one every working day.
- 40 cups: you break even at 33 cups. Of the 40, 35 are small and last 4 months, about 2 a week. The other 5 are the large upsizes, and they expire after 1 month, so plan to use them early.
If you only drink kopi a couple of times a week, the 40-cup package is the safer buy. For a daily office kopi, the 80-cup package wins on price per cup.
App bonus: free banana cake
Buy either package in the BreadTalk Group Rewards app and the first 15,000 buyers get 1 free banana cake slice, one per buyer, while stocks last. The cake voucher lasts 1 month, and Toast Box may swap the cake for another item of the same value. Buying at the counter does not get the cake.
The fine print
- Small hot drinks only. The kopi vouchers cover a small hot kopi or teh. Iced drinks and other sizes need a top-up, and Toast Box has not published the top-up amount.
- No seasonal or festive drinks. Limited-time drinks are excluded.
- Where you can buy it. At all Toast Box outlets except Jewel Changi Airport, Marina Bay Sands, Resorts World Sentosa and the Toast Box stalls inside Food Republic, Food Junction and Food Opera.
- Where you can use it. At all Toast Box outlets except Jewel, MBS and RWS, so the food-court stalls do accept the vouchers.
- Curry puffs need a set. The 2 free curry puffs come only with a full-priced Asian Delight set.
- No refunds or sharing. The package is non-refundable, non-extendable and non-transferable, and it does not stack with other promotions or third-party loyalty programmes.
Tips
- Buy in the app, not at the counter. The price is the same, and only app buyers get the banana cake.
- Use the 5 upsizes in the first month. They are the first vouchers to expire on the 40-cup package.
- Pair the curry puffs with lunch. Asian Delight sets are Toast Box's local mains, so use that voucher on a lunch you were already buying.
- Do not buy late in October expecting a longer window. The 4 and 5 months run from the date the vouchers are issued, so the clock starts when you buy, not on 31 October.
