Sheng Siong put a new two-week special on its own corporate site on Friday 21 August 2026 — newspaper ad SSAD26-1180, with the promotion period stamped across the top: 21/08/2026 – 03/09/2026.
> Quick view: two Purchase-with-Purchase items unlocked by every $20 spent — Softess 20-roll tissue $8.95 (U.P. $15.90) and Homeniks 3kg detergent $6.95 (U.P. $12.80) · three Buy-1-Free-1 lines · fruit & veg page runs 21–27 Aug only, a week shorter · 4% senior discount is Tue & Wed only · while stocks last, no traders.
The two headline items are add-ons, not shelf prices
The biggest savings on the ad sit inside a green box marked PURCHASE WITH PURCHASE, and the line printed under that heading is the one that matters: *every $20 spent will entitle you to buy these products at very special prices*.
| Item | PWP price | U.P. | Saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| Softess Premium Bathroom Tissue, 100% Pure Virgin Pulp (Safari Edition), 3-ply, 20 rolls × 230 sheets | $8.95 / bundle | $15.90 | 43% ($6.95) |
| Homeniks Premium Liquid Detergent (assorted variants), 3kg | $6.95 / bottle | $12.80 | 45% ($5.85) |
Take both and you pay $15.90 for $28.70 of usual price — $12.80 off, which is about two-thirds of the $20 basket you had to build to unlock them in the first place. For a household already doing a fortnightly shop, that is close to free money; for someone making a special trip for tissue alone, it is not.
The conditions are printed in the same box and in the panel beside it:
- The $20 qualifying spend excludes cigarettes, liquors, Sheng Siong vouchers, and infant milk powder stage 1 and 2.
- Limited to 3 per customer per transaction, unless otherwise stated.
- While stocks last, and no traders allowed.
The poster does not spell out the exact till arithmetic — the natural reading of "every $20 spent" plus a three-item cap is that a ~$60 basket is what gets you all three redemptions. If your basket is borderline, ask at the counter before you queue.
Three Buy-1-Free-1 lines, running the full fortnight
- Ginvera World Spa Shower Scrub (assorted), 750ml — $9.90 a bottle, buy 1 free 1 → $4.95 each
- CJ Bibigo Whole Shrimp Mandu, 200g — $6.95 a pack, buy 1 free 1 → $3.48 each
- St. Andrews Frozen Cooked Whole Mussel (tomato garlic / butter garlic), 500g — $8.99 a pack, buy 1 free 1 → $4.50 each
Unlike the fruit page below, these carry no separate end date, so they run to 3 September while stocks last.
The catch: the fruit & veg page ends a week early
Printed in brackets next to the Fruits & Vegetables section header is a different window entirely — Offer Period: 21 – 27/08/2026 (7 days only). That is seven days inside a fourteen-day ad, and it is the sort of line that gets dropped when a deal blog retypes the poster.
What ends on Thursday 27 August:
- Yunnan Shine Muscat Grape (Green) 500g — $1.99 / box (the standout on the page)
- Thailand Longan — 48¢ / 100g
- USA Green Envy Seedless Grape — $1.39 / 100g (air-flown)
- Peru Blueberry 125g — $4.99 for 2 boxes (air-flown)
- South Africa Strawberry 250g — $4.99 / box (air-flown)
- China Honey Peach 900g — $4.55 / box; China Golden Donut Peach 600g — $4.55 / box
- China Pomegranate (soft seed) — $3.55 for 2 pcs
- China Iron Nagaimo 500g — $3.45 / pack; China Spinach 200g — $2.25 for 2 packs
- Vietnam Seedless Green Lime 250g — $1.68 for 2 packs
- Vietnam Red / Green / Yellow Capsicum — 49¢ / 100g
If the fruit page is the reason you are going, 22–23 August is the last weekend for it, not the weekend after.

The discounts at the bottom of the ad are day-gated
This trips people up every time, so read the strip rather than the headline:
- 4% Seniors Special Discount — every Tuesday and Wednesday, Singaporeans and PRs aged 60 and above only, valid till 31/12/2026. In this fortnight that is 25–26 Aug and 1–2 Sep.
- 4% CHAS Special Discount — every Thursday for CHAS Blue Card holders and every Friday for CHAS Orange Card holders, valid till 31/12/2026. That is 27–28 Aug and 3 Sep inside this window (the next CHAS Friday, 4 Sep, lands after the special ends).
- Card rebates: 6% with the BOC Sheng Siong Card, 5% with the POSB Everyday Card, 5% with the Citi SMRT Platinum Visa Card. The ad footnotes that terms may vary and are applicable for all bank rebates.
Whether 4% stacks on a PWP or promotional price is not stated on the artwork — check at the counter.
Tips
- Build the $20 first, then walk to the PWP shelf. Rice, oil, mayonnaise and instant noodles on this same ad will get you there without buying anything you would not have bought.
- Do the fruit run this weekend. Everything on that page dies on 27 August.
- If you are 60 or above, shop Tuesday or Wednesday — 26 August and 2 September are the two mid-fortnight days where the 4% and a fresh restock overlap.
- "While stocks last" is the real limiter on the $1.99 Shine Muscat and the $1.00 ice cups; go early in the day.
