POPULAR is closing two of its biggest stores, and both are on moving-out sales right now — but they are on completely different clocks, and only one of them has published prices.
> Quick view: Jurong Point #B1-41 — up to 90% off selected items + 15% off regular-priced items + a $5 voucher at $60 (members) / $70 (non-members) nett · 14 Aug – 13 Sep 2026 · VivoCity #B1-16/17 — plain "Everything Must Go!" clearance, last day Sun 16 Aug · the 15% replaces your member 10%, it does not stack.
VivoCity closes tomorrow
POPULAR VivoCity #B1-16/17 has been clearing since 31 July under an "Everything Must Go!" banner — books, stationery, gifts, toys and more, while stocks last — and Sunday 16 August is its last day. That is tomorrow. There is no percentage headline for this one on POPULAR's site, so you are shopping whatever is physically left after two and a half weeks of clearance rather than working off a price list.
If you want itemised, priced deals, go west instead.
Jurong Point: the one with the flyer
POPULAR Jurong Point #B1-41 opened in 1995 — POPULAR's own artwork calls it 31 years in the mall — and it trades until Saturday 13 September 2026. The headline mechanics, straight off the brand's flyer:
- Up to 90% OFF selected items
- 15% OFF regular-priced items
- $5 discount voucher with a minimum $60 nett spend for members, $70 nett for non-members
- A photobooth in store — one voucher and one photobooth credit per eligible receipt
The catch: the 15% cancels your member 10%
This is the line worth reading twice. POPULAR's T&C for the sale says it is "not valid with any other discount (POPULAR Card/e-Card, vouchers and/or promotions)" — and POPULAR members already get 10% off storewide as standard, every day, banner-at-the-top-of-the-website standard.
So during the moving-out sale you take the 15% instead of the 10%, not as well as it:
- Non-member → a genuine 15 percentage points off a regular-priced item.
- Member → an improvement of five percentage points over what you'd pay on any normal day.
It also means gift vouchers won't layer onto sale items. If you have POPULAR vouchers saved up, spend them on something outside the promotion.
The second catch: two windows inside the window
The flyer's two "Big Clearance" pairs are date-gated, and both gates shut before the store does:
14 – 27 August
- Crochet Flower With Light (Lily / Sunflower) — $7.90 each, U.P. $15.90
- LARQ Bottle Swig Top 680ml — $29.90 each, U.P. $89.90, with a LARQ silicone boot worth $29 included
28 August – 6 September
- RFID Passport Holder (assorted sizes) — $10 – $12, U.P. $16.90 – $24.90
- Targus 13–14" Urban Laptop Sleeve (Black) — $15.90, U.P. $39
Neither pair is on shelf in the store's final week, 7–13 September. If you specifically want one of those four, the trip has to land inside its window.
The rest of the flyer, priced
Books and paper
- Assessment books (selected titles) — up to 70% off, U.P. $4.90 – $43.45
- English books (selected titles) — up to 60% off, U.P. $17.95 – $58.58
- Preschool / children's English books (selected) — up to 50% off, U.P. $13.02 – $34.90
- EPH assessment books (selected) — 3 or more, 25% off, U.P. $13.02 – $34.90
- Selected Chinese titles (指定华文书籍) — 2 or more, 30% off, U.P. $1.50 – $622.10
- Culture & Creative (文创精品) — 2 or more, 20% off, U.P. $1.10 – $63.90
Stationery and lifestyle
- Selected stationery — 8 for $10
- Thermal flask / lunch bowl / lunch bag / water bottle (selected) — 3 or more, 70% off, U.P. $10.90 – $69.90
- POP Urban "Stronger Than Ever" series — 60% off, U.P. $1.20 – $42.90
Electronics — the three sharpest lines on the flyer
- TP-Link TC70 Pan/Tilt FHD Camera — buy 1 get 1 free, U.P. $38.90 each
- Sony WF-C510 True Wireless Earbuds — $39 each, U.P. $149
- Logitech Ergo Lift Vertical Wireless Mouse — $49 each, U.P. $119
How to shop it
Go early for the paper. Assessment books, Chinese titles and children's English books are the shelves that empty first — and in a West-side store during exam season, they empty faster still. Note the wording on every deep tier: "selected titles", not the whole category, so the 70% rack is a subset of the shelf and it is picked over fastest.
Go late, or twice, for the gadgets. The electronics lines carry no date sub-window and no published cap, so they run the full month while stocks last.
Do the maths on the multi-buy tiers. The 3-or-more bottle tier at 70% off and the 2-or-more Chinese-title tier at 30% are the two places where buying more genuinely changes the unit price — everything else is a flat percentage.
And POPULAR isn't leaving
POPULAR told AsiaOne the two closures are down to the malls' retail plans and that no further closures are planned. A new store opens at Hougang Mall on 4 September 2026, taking the chain back to 26 Singapore stores — nine days before Jurong Point shuts.
One more thing at Jurong Point: POPULAR has put a Time Capsule in store. Write a memory or a wish on one of the letters, roll it up, drop it in — and ten entrants get a $50 POPULAR gift voucher.
