Two years ago, pickleball in Singapore was a curiosity — a handful of taped-out courts and a Facebook group. Today it is the fastest-growing sport on the island by some distance. Bookings at ActiveSG sport halls went from fewer than 20 a month to close to 8,000 a month across the first half of 2025, SportSG counts more than 5,000 active players, and bookings across the public courts have more than tripled since 2023.

The supply has finally caught up. 2026 alone brought eight sheltered courts at the Little India Bus Terminal, where Sport Singapore and the LTA converted a disused bus waiting area; ten fully air-conditioned courts at The Sports Arina's new Jalan Kayu site, which opened on 12 July; a rebuilt hard-court cluster at The Kallang backed by OCBC Group; and five sheltered courts tucked under an expressway viaduct at Segar Road. There are now well over 30 places to play, spanning every region and every price point.

Which is exactly the problem. The same hour of pickleball costs $3.50 at an ActiveSG sport hall and $48 on an air-conditioned court in Serangoon — a fourteen-fold spread, with no obvious logic to a newcomer. Some venues charge by the court, some run super-off-peak windows in the middle of the day, some sell memberships that only pay off above a certain frequency, and the resident and citizen discounts are easy to miss entirely.

So we compared eight of the venues where you can realistically get a booking, and checked every rate on the venue's own website or booking portal in August 2026. The one thing to hold onto before you look at the numbers: you are renting the whole court, not a seat. Split four ways, even the most expensive court in this guide comes to $12 a head.

How to choose

If you have never played: start on a public court. An ActiveSG off-peak indoor slot is $3.50 for citizens and PRs, and the free HDB courts at Choa Chu Kang, Serangoon North, Bedok South, Jurong West and Segar Road cost nothing at all. Borrow or rent paddles before you buy.

If you play weekly: the off-peak windows are where the value sits. Smashing Pickle Club's weekday 12pm-3pm rate of $12 an hour is the cheapest private court in Singapore, and Play! Pickle Punggol's outdoor and singles courts start at $10.

If you play twice a week or more at peak: run the membership maths. Smashing Pickle Club's Pickle Member plan is $50 a month with no lock-in and cuts peak from $32 to $25 and off-peak from $18 to $14, while doubling your booking window and letting you hold four times as many peak slots.

If the heat is your real problem: you have three air-conditioned options — The Sports Arina at Expo (12 courts), TSA at Jalan Kayu (10 courts, and the best value of the three) and Play! Pickle Serangoon (4 courts). If you only need shelter rather than aircon, The ARK Sports Village and Play! Pickle Punggol both start at $20.

If you live in the right postcode: check for a resident rate before you book anything. Jalan Kayu residents who verify in person at TSA's booking office pay $20 instead of $25 off-peak and $31.50 instead of $35 at peak, and that discount applies across most of the facility, not just pickleball.
