We read six funeral directors' own published package prices on 29 September 2026 and lined them up like for like.

Singapore Casket has served families from Lavender Street since 1920, and it is one of the few old names that prints a full price list for every faith on its homepage. Its 3-day standard care packages (before 9% GST) are: Christian or Roman Catholic $5,690 at its own parlour or $6,310 at an HDB void deck or multi-purpose hall; Buddhist $6,888 or $7,158; Free-Thinker $5,520 or $5,790; Hindu $7,103 or $7,373; Taoist $11,937 at the parlour or $10,188 at a void deck, which it notes can vary with dialect-group rituals and family size. Direct cremation without a wake starts from $1,500. Its parlour halls are also priced publicly, from $1,350 a day for the Jade and Pearl halls to $1,750 for Regency (110 guests, expandable), so ask whether hall rental sits inside or on top of your package quote. Ang Chin Moh is the other heritage name, with more than 110 years in the trade, and its packages are the most complete on this list, which is also why they cost the most. The Buddhist Value package (3 days) is $8,999, or $9,808.91 with GST, against a listed usual price of $13,659.88. It includes collection, embalming, a void deck wake with tables and 100 chairs, a standard hearse, an air-conditioned 40-seater bus for the procession, mourning garments for up to 10 family members, and the Mandai cremation fee plus ash collection, several of which other providers bill separately. Each extra wake day is $1,000. The Buddhist Deluxe package is $14,900 ($16,241 with GST). One caution: its Christian package page still carries a February 2024 validity line on the $7,500 price, so ask for a current written quote rather than relying on that figure. Direct Funeral Services (25 years, more than 40,000 families by its own count) publishes a compare page for each faith that lists every item in its two tiers side by side, which makes it the easiest price list here to check a rival quote against. 3-day, 2-night packages before GST: Christian Peace $4,999 ($5,448.91 with GST) or Faith $9,333; Buddhist Simplicity $5,888 ($6,417.92) or Value $10,999; Taoist Basic $8,888 ($9,687.92) or Value $14,988. The Taoist page text says "from $8,288" but its own price table starts at $8,888, so quote the table. Direct cremation is $1,500 ($1,635 with GST), and the $100 Mandai crematorium fee payable to NEA is not included. It also runs its own Direct Memorial Hall. Buddhist void deck packages start at $5,688 ($6,199.92 with GST) for 3 days, and each step up the ladder adds $300, to $6,888 at the top. Christian packages start at $4,988 and climb the same way to $6,188, all before GST. Its direct cremation is $1,800 ($1,962 with GST), which looks dearer than the $1,380-$1,500 headlines elsewhere, but it already includes the $100 Mandai cremation fee, a hearse, dressing and make-up, and send-off flowers. ## What changes the final bill
## Before you sign Ask two or three providers for a written, itemised quotation for the same faith, venue and number of days, and check what is "charged by use" (drinks, tidbits). A reputable director will give you this before you commit.
