How the $8 per $88 actually works
The mechanic counts in whole $88 blocks, not pro-rata, which is the part worth doing arithmetic on before you check out:

That is an effective 9.1% off, landing on top of catalogue prices that are already cut. The practical move: if your cart sits just under a multiple of $88, adding a small item is close to free — at $80, an $8 accessory costs you nothing net.
The exclusions are where people trip
BEST Denki's own terms page excludes a long list, and it covers exactly the things shoppers come for:
- Apple products
- Mobile phones and smartwatches
- Pre-order items and limited offers
- Promotional items
- Miele, Brandt and Epson products
- Software and extended warranty
Worth spelling out: the same homepage is currently leading with Galaxy Fold8 / Fold8 Ultra pre-orders ($2,448–$2,948). As pre-order phones they are excluded twice over and contribute nothing toward your $88 blocks.
Apple and phones get their own ladder instead

Running alongside: 'Celebrate 61' Red Hot Deals
A second online-exclusive banner advertises 10% off across fans, air cleaners, dehumidifiers, air coolers, vacuums and water heaters, with participating brands Shark, Mistral, EuropAce, Sona, KDK, Karcher, Philips and Tefal. Those are the same categories carrying the deepest catalogue markdowns right now, so read the strike-through price on the product page rather than assuming the 10% lands on top of it.
The fine print
- Online only — the discount does not apply at BEST Denki retail stores.
- No end date is published. The terms say only "valid while redemption lasts" and "while stocks last", and BEST Denki reserves the right to amend or terminate without prior notice. The 8.8 name points at Saturday 8 August, and the National Day long weekend runs to Monday 10 August (the holiday in lieu).
- Redemption-capped, not date-capped — if the price is right, waiting is the risk.
