The catch nobody mentions is closing time: six of the seven flagships shut between 6pm and 8pm. The exception is PS.Cafe Harding Road at Dempsey, which has reopened after its renovation and runs to 10pm (10.30pm on Friday and Saturday). We have also listed the sister outlets verified open to 9.30pm or 10pm. Every address, opening hour and outlet re-checked on 25 October 2026 against each brand's own site.
Singapore has no shortage of cafes with free Wi-Fi and a socket somewhere, but very few will let you settle in for three hours without a side-eye.

The most beloved bakery-cafe in Singapore, specialising in traditional French baking with local twists. The Eng Hoon Street outlet (56 Eng Hoon Street, #01-70) has the pastry counter worth the trip: golden croissants, glossy tarts, flaky kouign-amann. Coffee is roasted by sister brand Common Man Coffee Roasters. Open Mon to Fri 7.30am to 8pm and Sat and Sun 8am to 8pm, one of 18 outlets islandwide. Free Wi-Fi, but power sockets are scarce and seating is tight, so it is best for a 1 to 2 hour brunch and coffee rather than a 4 hour laptop session. If you want a later seat, the Wisma Atria, Plaza Singapura, Centrepoint, Raffles City, VivoCity, Tampines 1 and JEM outlets all close at 10pm daily.

The grown-up sibling of Tiong Bahru Bakery, at 22 Martin Road in a quiet Robertson Quay shophouse surrounded by greenery. Specialty coffee from their own roastery and an unconventional all-day brunch menu (the Big Common Man Breakfast is iconic, alongside organic eggs benedict and brioche french toast). The second floor houses Grounded by CMCR, an alfresco coffee bar with a smaller wellness-focused menu. The space is laptop-friendly off-peak, with power sockets at most tables, so avoid the 11am to 1pm weekend brunch rush. One catch for WFC planners: it runs 7.30am to 6pm daily, so it is a morning-to-late-afternoon spot only. The group has five other outlets if Martin Road is full, and their hours differ a lot: Stanley Street (7.30am to 6pm daily), Joo Chiat Road (Mon 7.30am to 5pm, Tue to Sun to 9.30pm), Alexandra Road (now 7.30am to 5pm daily, so no longer an evening option), Quayside Isle on Sentosa (Mon and Tue 8am to 5pm, Wed to Sun to 10pm) and a smaller CMCR On The Go counter at ION Orchard (daily 9.30am to 9.30pm). So the evening branches are only evening branches later in the week: on a Monday, Joo Chiat and Sentosa both shut at 5pm. Reservations are not taken at Martin Road, Stanley Street, Alexandra or ION at all; Joo Chiat and Sentosa take them from 5.30pm.

One of Singapore's most consistently-ranked brunch cafes. Atlas's Buttermilk Pancakes and signature waffles regularly top best-brunch-in-SG lists. The flagship at 6 Duke's Road, just off Bukit Timah Road, is large, airy and naturally lit, and one of the more comfortable rooms on this list for a long session. Check the day before you go: it opens Tuesday to Sunday, 8am to 7pm (last orders 6.30pm) and is closed on Mondays. Reservations are currently on hold because of limited space, so plan on walking in. Nearest MRT is Botanic Gardens on the Circle and Downtown lines. If it is full, the same group runs Columbus Coffee Co. (Upper Thomson), Apollo Coffee Bar (65 Serangoon Garden Way, Sun to Wed 9am to 7pm and Thu to Sat 9am to 10pm), Neptune (East Coast Road) and Supernova (Tanjong Katong). We have dropped Lunar Coffee Brewers at OUE Downtown from this list: its own website no longer resolves and its Instagram now reads as closed. Expect a queue at weekend brunch.

A favourite with remote workers and students, tucked into Sophia Flats at 28 Wilkie Road, #01-02/03/04, a few minutes' walk from Bencoolen MRT and within reach of Dhoby Ghaut and Rochor. Clean modern aesthetic, free Wi-Fi and abundant power outlets. The food menu is simpler than Atlas or PS.Cafe, with solid all-day brunch fare and good coffee, but the layout and laptop-friendliness make it a frequent pick for a half-day work session. Open daily 8am to 6pm (last orders 5pm), so plan around the early close. There is a second, busier outlet inside National Gallery Singapore (1 St Andrew Road, #01-11/12/13/14/17, daily 9am to 7pm with last orders at 6pm), which shares its space with sister concept Kopi 1930 and is run no-pork, no-lard, no-alcohol and no-gelatine.

The cupcake-led bakery-cafe with a Tiong Bahru flagship at 1D Yong Siak Street, now part of a chain of eight: Cluny Court, Telok Ayer, Neil Road, East Coast Road, TANGS at Tang Plaza, Serangoon Gardens and Upper Thomson (the Holland Village outlet at 241 Holland Avenue now lists a June 2027 reopening). Two things worth knowing before you settle in: Plain Vanilla is cash-free everywhere except the TANGS outpost, and it takes no reservations at any store. Famous for cupcakes (red velvet, salted caramel) and pastries; the cafe side pours Allpress coffee and does a casual brunch. Most outlets open 7.30am to 7pm (Cluny Court to 7.30pm, Telok Ayer only to 5pm on Sundays and public holidays), with hot food last orders at 3.50pm (2.50pm on weekdays at Serangoon Gardens).EVENING OUTLETS: two now stay open past 7pm. It has since become the most decorated cafe on this list: named Asia's best coffee shop in 2026 for the second year running, and 6th in the World's 100 Best Coffee Shops. Find it at 139 Selegie Road, #01-01 (not the old Lavender address), with a weekend-focused Apartment Roastery over at Jalan Riang #15-9 in Serangoon, open Saturdays and Sundays 10am to 5pm and serving hand-brewed filter coffee only, so no food, no takeaway and not a work stop. The Selegie space is small but laptop-friendly off-peak; a communal table seats about 6, plus wall benches with sockets. Light food (pastries, sandwiches) only, and it closes at 6pm. Best for serious coffee drinkers and shorter 60 to 90 minute sessions, and expect it to be busier now that the awards have landed.

The seventh, PS.Cafe Harding Road, has reopened after its renovation and runs to 10pm, but it is a restaurant room, not a desk. Two things to plan around. Last orders almost always land 30 to 60 minutes before the stated close, so a 9.30pm close realistically means ordering by 9pm. And Mondays are the trap: the CMCR Joo Chiat and Sentosa outlets both drop back to a 5pm close at the start of the week.
Serangoon Gardens is one of the few heartland pockets with a real cafe cluster, and it comes up often enough from readers in the north-east that it is worth answering directly. Three options, all verified on 25 October 2026:
None of the three is a coworking space, and sockets at all of them are limited relative to Twenty Eight Cafe. If you are in the north-east and need a full day, the honest answer is still a coworking desk or a public library.

Watch the closing times too: Common Man Coffee Roasters shuts at 6pm daily, Twenty Eight Cafe at 6pm, and Atlas Coffeehouse is closed on Mondays, so a late-afternoon plan can fall apart. Reservations are thinner than they used to be. Atlas has put bookings on hold because of limited space, Plain Vanilla takes none at any store, Tiong Bahru Bakery takes none, and Common Man Coffee Roasters accepts them only at Joo Chiat and Sentosa (both from 5.30pm). PS.Cafe still takes bookings, though its Raffles City and Paragon outlets are walk-in only until 5.30pm at weekends and on public holidays.
Twenty Eight Cafe on Wilkie Road is the only one on this list where a socket is close to guaranteed: outlets are abundant and the room is laid out for people who stay. Apartment Coffee has sockets along its wall benches but the room is small, with a communal table seating about six, so go off-peak. Common Man Coffee Roasters Martin Road has power at most tables and works well on a weekday morning. Tiong Bahru Bakery and Plain Vanilla both have free Wi-Fi but scarce sockets and tight seating at most outlets, so charge before you go and treat them as a 60 to 90 minute stop. PS.Cafe and Atlas Coffeehouse have Wi-Fi, but neither room is built around plug access and laptop culture is not dominant at either.
Common Man Coffee Roasters Martin Road is the most reliable pick, with outdoor seating that welcomes leashed dogs. PS.Cafe Harding Road at Dempsey, long the other obvious answer, has reopened after its renovation, so confirm the refreshed space's pet policy before you bring a dog. Plain Vanilla East Coast Road has alfresco lounge seating and a drinking fountain for dogs. Tiong Bahru Bakery is mixed, with some outlets allowing pets at outdoor tables, and Atlas Coffeehouse is generally not pet-friendly inside. Always check the specific outlet's policy on Instagram before bringing your dog.
Most laptop-friendly cafes price between S$8 and S$12 for coffee and S$18 to S$28 for mains. PS.Cafe sits at the upper end (S$25 to S$32 mains, popular sticky date pudding), and its Great World and One Fullerton outlets do a two-course weekday set lunch at S$32 or three courses at S$45. Atlas Coffeehouse lands around S$22 to S$28. Tiong Bahru Bakery and Plain Vanilla are bakery-cafe priced (pastry plus coffee S$12 to S$16), and Twenty Eight Cafe sits in the middle at roughly S$25 a head. Budget for one drink every 90 minutes or so if you are working. That is the unwritten rule at most Singapore cafes, and it is what keeps a long session welcome.
