New Balance Is Lending Out S$339 Race Shoes for Free at Suntec City: One-Hour Trial Runs Mon to Thu, and the Booking Calendar Stops Dead on 20 October
New Balance's Suntec City store will fit you into a pair of its current road and race shoes and send you out for an hour around Marina Bay, free, with nothing to buy at the end. Its booking page publishes no end date, but the calendar behind it does: the last session anyone can reserve is Tuesday 20 October 2026, and November and December come back completely empty. The trial fleet includes the FuelCell SuperComp Elite v6, which New Balance Singapore sells at S$339, plus the SuperComp Rebel at S$299, the Fresh Foam X 1080v15 at S$259 and the Fresh Foam X Ellipse at S$219. Sessions run Monday to Thursday only, there are just 24 of them a week, and as of Sunday evening four of the next eight open days have two slots or fewer left. Wednesday 30 September already has none.

Free Pickleball, Table Tennis and Basketball at Geneo: PlayCourt Opens 7am to 7pm Daily Till 22 Nov 2026
The cheapest pickleball in Singapore right now costs nothing. REINVENTION: ALLPLAY, the design festival CapitaLand runs at Singapore Science Park, has turned the outdoor area at 7 Science Park Drive into PlayCourt: two pickleball courts, two table tennis tables and four basketball hoops, open 7am to 7pm every day from 15 August to 22 November 2026, with paddles and balls sitting in baskets by the nets. There is no booking and no entry fee. DesignSingapore Council, the festival's supporting agency, lists the event fee as free admission with selected programmes ticketed. The courts are sponsored by The Ark, whose own paid sites charge from $20/hr at Segar Road and from $25/hr at Orchid Country Club and Cuppage Court, so a two-hour session here is worth $40 to $50 you do not pay. The catches are real though: the court is open-air with no shelter, there are only two pickleball courts and no booking system, so a 6pm weekday turn-up can mean waiting, and the two-hour session cap is a courtesy guideline rather than anything printed on the festival's own page. Two of the three festival zones are also already done: PlayLab closed on 23 August, and PlayMission at The Canopy closes on Sunday 13 September, which makes the weekend of 12 to 13 September the last one where both PlayCourt and PlayMission are running.

Botanic Gardens & Fort Canning Heritage Festival 2026: 9 Days Free, 5 to 13 September
NParks is running a nine-day Heritage Festival across Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park from 5 to 13 September 2026, landing squarely on the September school holidays. More than 50 programmes, and nearly all of them free: four outdoor movies at the Eco-Lake Lawn (Lilo & Stitch on 12 September, Mulan on 13 September), a Xinyao concert at the Symphony Stage, a nightly Fungi After Dark light walk, a projection-and-audio quest at Fort Canning that ends with a gift, and a stamp trail that pays out a Gardens pin and a Fort Canning Centre centenary tote. One thing the write-ups gloss over: almost every workshop, tour, concert and screening runs on the four weekend dates only, 5, 6, 12 and 13 September. We read the official 57-page e-programme so you can plan the right days.
